So I've decided to create a new space, similar to The Ice-Memery but instead of being silly memes, these are memes/images/words etc. that I've found that are more like tools and insights for recovery. Hence, I welcome you to:

These are things I've found that are insightful, provide psychoeducation, or that have helped inspire me in my recovery journey. I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! But to start us off, I would love to share a nice lil stack of memes/pics I've found that I thought were really worth the read.

@toodles I'm simply fab! Thanks for asking, hope you're similarly in good spirits 💜

I love that thought - and more to the point, when we feel safe, it often means we have the space to be our authentic selves. Safety always needs to come first, and it is very okay to protect one's peace by behaving in a way that may not be authentic if it means remaining in a regulated and grounded state of mind.

In particular for me, it resonates a lot with the experience of being queer and trans - I will frequently keep my identity hidden in environments where I don't feel that others will be able to respect my identity, or worse, would discriminate against me for it. It's inauthentic, yes - but safer.

Thanks for sharing. Trans and queer here too and often I think about authenticity while in hiding. It’s not a good subject. I struggle to feel safe while going under the radar and can’t even imagine what it would be like otherwise. Take care x
