Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, how's your adventure going? Is there a particular thread your putting updates? Jetlag takes about a week to settle I'm told, and I'm sure there's son Celtic wisdom to get over your post viral fatigue How's WH coping with his obcessive routines while travelling? A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Hey @Sans911 @eth

Yay @Former-Member

Congrats.

Thanks @MDT @Faith-and-Hope @Zoe7

Rethinking what I do with myself, and how I am being at home. Partly cos I have returned from wonderful Alexander Technique weekend workshop so have improved bodily awareness and partly cos I have the house to myself and only need to cook for me. Maybe I will get a boarder in later, wait and see how son goes with things.

Had another appointment with gp just getting her head around family diagnoses, and/or how to understand what happened without pathologising....

Re: Far and Away

Congratulations @Former-Member !

@Appleblossom good to hear you are starting to feel freer (free-er?) to use your home space as you choose. That's the up side of 'empty nesting' and I'm happy for you, although I realise there's still a lot to be sorted for your son. Hope things start to fall into place with the new GP. Cheers

Re: Far and Away

@Appleblossom Enjoy the peace and quiet of having the house to yourself while you can.

Getting a boarder in would not only provide a little extra money but if you got the right person some company for you too. I know that will be completely dependent on how son is but certainly worth the thought.

How did you go today @Zoe7 ?

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Faith-and-Hope Unfortunately it has not been a great day. I am okay but there has been a lot happening around me. My sister rang this morning to tell me they have put in an offer for a house much further away. They may not get it as there were several people interested but if they do move I will miss them being so close. Then I received an email from my Mum that was her official retirement letter. I was a bit disappointed that she forwarded a copy of the email sent to the principal and HR without actually telling me herself. I got over that (kind of) and did get the backyard mowed. Then as I was just about to start the moving of things from the garage my sister turned up quite emotional. I won't go into it all here but the upshot was she spent a few hours here and by the time she left it was both too late to start and I was honestly too drained to do anything.

I have tidied up the loungeroom and dining room a bit and will get the washing up and kitchen done tonight. Have a headache too - most likely from the stress of this afternoon and it didn't help that I hit my head on the top of the car door when I said goodbye to my sister

Cat did not eat all her dinner also but more than she was eating last time she was off her food. I have put her bowl up to give the rest to her when she comes back in from outside and I will leave her bowl in her room tonight with more in it in the hope she eats it during the night.

Relaxing for now with Toby by my side - had more pain meds and jammies on.

How was your day? How did the appointment go today?

Re: Far and Away

Oh dear @Zoe7 ..... what an “in washing machine” sort of day ..... 😦 .... I feel so sorry for you ..... you had your day planned out so well, with so much to achieve 🤭😔. Unfortunately I know how that feels and it really sucks, but you are doing the best you can to manage with it all, as you do ....

Pity your Mum couldn’t tell you in person, but I guess that’s her way. Maybe too she wasn’t sure how you would take it because of the previous issues with that school, or maybe she was happy to be sending her own “not coming back” letter, and that was what she was trying to share ?? Open communication is just so much easier that trying to double-guess, but there you go ..... guessin’ you’re not gonna change her ways now .....

Hugs Hon, and I hope Cat gets back to eating soon. Is she eating grass at all ? I have heard that cars munch on grass as medicine when they are not feeling well and it generally helps to sort them out.

My day has been good - full, busy, and still busy. I have an application with tonight as a (new) deadline, and I think I am nearly finished, but won’t really know till I get to the next part. It’s in stages, and I have been working in Photoshop 🎉 for one of them. I am really starting to enjoy what I can do with this thing now 😏 (go me ❣️lol 😝)

I also took a trip to a Monastery I have been meaning to visit, and despite having all this work to do, it was a day out with D2 and I think we both needed one.

Counsellor is going well. It doesn’t actually feel like I am getting far in the appointments at times, but I am feeling the changes in my heart and brain, and that is what is important ..... and it is slowly translating into a new path. Who knew ? I am going to start putting some things down on paper soon cos it’s getting too busy in my brain.

Re: Far and Away

Wow you sound like you have had a really full on day too @Faith-and-Hope Lovely to have some time out with D2 and such a wonderful place to visit. I love the old architecture of places like Monasteries so that would have been right up my alley too

It is a great idea to begin writing things down. That certainly helped me with both appointments and getting things out in between them. I don't do that as much these days - actually find it easier to write the worse I feel - I find it cathartic just as you are doing with your art.

My mum did ring me later in the day but I was doing the mowing at the time. I rang her back when my sister left. She didn't think I would actually get the email for days as she didn't think I checked much during the holidays - so I suppose I can forgive her for that.

It is wonderful to hear that you are feeling some changes as a result of the counselling. Just knowing you have that support and outlet each week to talk through things is reassuring. I do hate to think you are all alone there so having that support eases my mind a little.

I gave Cat some more food tonight and she ate most of it again so I am going to feed her 3 times a day from now on as she has clearly lost more weight. I will give it another couple of weeks with feeding her 3 times a day if she continues to eat most of it and then take her back to the vet. I'll try to pick up another couple of extra days of relief when we go back to school so I can cover it.

I just went out to the atm to get my money out and stopped by Maccas to get a hot fudge sundae. Haven't had one of those for months and really enjoyed it Still tired but not sleepy - on the positive side my headache has nearly gone - must have been the sundae lol

Have done the washing up. cleaned the kitchen, sorted out everything in my bag from work and put away clothes tonight so at least I have achieved something today. Hoing to get to bed soon though so I can be up early to get stuck into the garage. I need to go to the bank. Kmart and chemist but they are all next to each other so it won't take long.

Going to be 27 here on Thursday so the more I can get done tomorrow the longer I can spend at the beach with Toby on Thursday. Really looking forward to it and it will be good for both of us to get there again.

WHat are your plans for the rest of the week other than uni?

Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope, glad the counselling is working, though subtle. And Photoshop studies are bringing some joy. And somehow amid it all you find time for balance and going out with D2. I feel better after I write down all the things rolling round in my head... I start with a list then fill in detail later if needed. I find the list on its own settles me down. Great bedtime to do. Love hearing how your going 💜💐🌻

Re: Far and Away

Morning @Zoe7 🦋💕

Not much other than uni this week .... I have visual diary work piling up along with some unfinshed digital assignments ... and something coming up soon for art history studies. We do have outlaws arriving for the school holidays tho, so there will be some catching up with them occasionally.

Thank you and good morning @Former-Member .... 👋🌻

I think I need to write out some goals, like my studies are one of them but not the only one. I also have to find a way to start feeling like I belong where we are living now, and I know that is a big part of what you are going through too.

Good morning @Former-Member 🤗💕 ..... still chuffed to have read about your big win ..... about time, I say ❣️ I hope you really enjoy your trip to the west.
