Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, how's your adventure going? Is there a particular thread your putting updates? Jetlag takes about a week to settle I'm told, and I'm sure there's son Celtic wisdom to get over your post viral fatigue How's WH coping with his obcessive routines while travelling? A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope When I returned from O/S I collected my piano and lived with aunt & uncle & his brother for a while, paying full share etc., No charity from my rellies.. except a very occasional toke or a bong. Uncle was a classical civ expert but he and his brother did it. They were not biological rellies.

I love classical form, poetries, music, tailoring etc, my son loved classic computer games, but I no longer put classicism on the pedestal I once did. Most cultures have their flowering days.

I think Australian anthropology of the whitefella is a good idea too. lol

I figured out last january on my music holiday that my cooking was better than boarding school cooking but that might not be saying much .. lol .. beats the culture of orphanage or war-time cooking. I know you struggle to understand your European in-laws struggle with their history of war realities, including food shortages. I take those things for granted, but that you do grapple with it, in a culturally respectful manner, helps me respect you.

Great flu Faith and Hope.Yeh I think cultural differences could be a problem at times,we were so "Americanised"watching TV shows eg:knew more about slavery than the impact of White settlement in Australia.Loved Ancient History in Year 11 /12

Good morning @Shaz51

Yes I imagine @Faith-and-Hope's adventures have got many people dreaming of travel!

Where would you like to go?

Re: Far and Away

Morning @Shaz51, @Former-Member, @Appleblossom! Hope you are having a happy start to the day. I totally agree about this sparking the travel bug again. It sounds like @Faith-and-Hope has already had a massive adventure - I can't believe you still have another 3 weeks to go! (Jealous )

I haven't been able to read through the whole thread yet, so it might have already been asked, but what is everyone's dream destination? For me I would absolutely love to go back to Japan again one day. I found the culture so different to what I am used to, but such a friendly and exciting one. Also in my opinion probably the best food I have ever had - I did take away quite a few recipes from my travels there.
