A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

She is such a sweet little thing too @Faith-and-Hope - always wanting to sit next to me so I would often have her next to one leg and my more challenging boy on the other leg ...made it very hard to move lol I called them both my little Tobys as they were always there wherever I turned My boy came running in when he saw me yesterday and hugged me. His Mum came with us yesterday and she said he is devastated that he won't have me next term and then thanked me for all I had done for him this term. I am really going to miss these kids

Re: Far and Away

I have another story for you @Faith-and-Hope ...for some of the term the kids have been working on animal research. One of the kids had an operation and was away when we began so was really behind from the beginning. He plodded along looking up Meerkats but producing very little actual work. Well then he decided that he wasn't that into Meerkats anymore and instead wanted to find out about Otters ...you could imagine my smile when he said that - so I spent all afternoon with him on Tuesday helping him find what he needed (otherwise he would have had nothing to present). Wednesday morning he worked with another student to read and highlight what he wanted to say from what we printed out. He had some cute pictures to show as well. At first he didn't want to present anything (has anxiety issues and is quite low in reading) but with the help of the other student he stood in front of the whole class and confidently read out his information. I was so proud of him

That’s such a lovely story .... and it is so good to hear that the environment is so nurturing around him. We have a somewhat similar story that didn’t have that sort of happy ending and produced anxiety issues in one of mine, but hearing a positive outcome for someone else helps to heal our situation, despite it being quite some time ago now. It helps to renew faith in people being kind and supportive.

I have spent the evening getting support materials in order for the exhibition next week @Zoe7, and I am pleased with my efforts.

Hope you can settle to sleep soonish.

Re: Far and Away

Unfortunately I hear way too many stories of the ways kids are treated and the expectations not tking into account their learning levels and styles @Faith-and-Hope I am sorry one of your baby dragons was on the receiving end of that. School should be about nuturing and valuing differences and working with the kids to get the best out of them by taking into account both their interests and passions. If each child can go home happy and having learnt something then my job is done.

I am so glad you have gotten things together tonight Hon. This exhibition sounds like a magnificent project to be part of - so proud of how well you are going and all that you are putting in

I sent off a photo of the birdhouses tonight to the person I got the fence palings from. They replied with a lovely message - they really loved what the kids have done.
