Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Oh my goodness @Former-Member - the catering alone would have been overwhelming, let alone the perpetual smiles and interactions. I'd be staying in bed today lol 🤭

Re: Far and Away

Oh yes, there is a lot of that too @Former-Member ... me being very much an introvert, I need my time out. All those smiles and interactions take a heavy toll I have to say. I have to admit I was very tempted to stay in bed this morning. Especially since hubby didnt even wake up until after 9.30am. But its a beautiful day and I decided I needed to do some gardening. So I have been out watering our undercover pots and some very thirsty garden plants. Holly has been sniffing around after rabbits while I'm at it. She may be getting a bit deaf as she approaches 11yo, but her sense of smell is still fantastic.

Re: Far and Away

Dear @Zoe7 I expect you are right into finishing off those bird box rooves by now. I hope you get through them quickly so you have at least a little time to relax before tonight and tomorrows school. Here is a little something to greet you once you're done for the day. Take your pick, or take all of them. Enjoy ....

Sherry 💕

Re: Far and Away

@Former-Member I am going to sit outside in the sun, come inside for that beautiful bath then cuddle up with my fur babies near the fire with the cup of tea - sounds like a perfect afternoon for me - thank you Hon ...lovely to come inside to.

I have finished the rooves and all the extra pieces for those that wanted 'extensions' on their birdhouses. Have to drill in some more holes but left the drill at school so will do that tomorrow when I get home (should only take half an hour so will have enough light after PD).

We only got one house finished from last week and one more done today.I can see Thursday is going to be a big day. Still aiming to get 2 more done tomorrow and the same Wednesday which will leave 10 to do on Thursday. That can be achieved if I am there first thing in the morning. I had 3 people set up at once today but it didn't work out well. I'll try a different 3 tomorrow and see if they can work together.

The rest of the day wasn't too bad - they were so noisy today though and it did my head in a few times. I talked to them at the end of the day about that and asked for them to try better tomorrow (and to not sit with someone that they know they will talk to) ...see how it goes!

On the positive side the work they did was good and their seeds are growing so they are a bit excited about that. Some sad news though - one of our Hermit Crabs died. Some of the kids made a little coffin for him (with a headstone as well) and other kids made cards to farewell him. There were no tears but some were understandably sad. I was impressed how well they dealt with it and worked together to make everything ...so a little win out of the sadness.

Tomorrow is mostly planned - just a few things for the afternoon to finish off so a quieter night for me tonight. Might get moving on planning for the rest of the week though as I won't be home until late tomorrow and Wednesday (and most likely Thursday).

@Former-Member I am pleased you didn't have any commitments today and could take it easy. Hope you have had time to relax and are doing okay. You have certainly had a full on couple of months! Very much thinking of you today - got your earlier post at school and it made me smile ...thank you Hon

@Faith-and-Hope I missed you last night but I went to bed early. Glad that you got a little of your assignment done and also had a family movie - you needed some down time too Hon. I hope Mr. has not been too grumpy today with the change of his routine and you have had a good day at uni. Much love to you as always

(ps. there was a peacock in the story I read to the kids today so of course I thought of you - huge smile )

@Former-Member Lovely to see you here today Hon. It has been a beautiful sunny day and I hope you have had the same

@Sans911 Very much thinking of you too Hon with your upcoming surgery - all my best wishes and love coming your way too. Goodluck with it all and hoping for a speedy recovery

Re: Far and Away

It has been a good day at uni @Zoe7 . We had outdoors drawing class this afternoon and it was lovely ❣️

I am glad to hear everything is slowly piecing together for tge birdhouses (see what I did there ? 😆). It was sad about the hermit crab ..... ours kept doing that too ..... but you handled it so well. Giving the kids the opportunity to honour the class pet that way is very healing.

Re: Far and Away

haha - slowly piecing together @Faith-and-Hope lol

...very slowly piecing together but we are getting there. I can see Thursday will be a very long day - what we don't get finished in class time I will have to finish off after school so they can decorate them on Friday.

Oooh oudoors drawing class - what a joy. It has been a beautiful day here so expect you have had the same there. How wonderful to enjoy the sunshine and draw at the same time - really happy for you

Yes the kids handled it really well with the Hermit Crab. Just hope the remaining two last for the rest of the term. I have had some before that have survived for nearly a year. The remaining two have always been more active so I honestly didn't expect the one who died to last long.
