Re: Far and Away

Still watching it @Former-Member Not really interested in it though so you haven't spoiled anything.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough tax taken out for my income protection so that refund will not be coming to me. I don't have to pay a debt this year like I did last year because of it though so that is a bonus. Will be only around $100 dollars but it helps.

In a couple of pays time we will get back pay for the wage increase we received so that will help too - it won't be much for me though because of only working 4 days now.

Have fed the fur babies and getting dinner organised for myself - figure if I eat and get cleaned up early I can begin concentrating on more of the housework and then school work later.

What have you been up to today?

Re: Far and Away

We have visitors here today and tomorrow @Zoe7 . Not staying with us, but in a nearby caravan park. Its hubbys brother and wife and a couple of their friends from Perth. They are travelling around the Eastern states in their big vans and are calling in here to see hubby, whom theyve not seen in 2 years. They arrived this morning and will leave Monday. I invited them around for a sausage sizzle for lunch as it was a nice day. Had it out on the deck, and it was quick and easy. Didnt have long to plan anything more than that as we didnt know when they were turning up. Anyway I got into all sorts of trouble for inviting them around, hubby was furious. Thumping, smashing, ranting and raving for an hour before he finally settled down. I was the absolute worst in the world. He wasnt well enough to go anywhere else, but he didnt want them to come here either. But damn it all, they came all this way and called in to see his brother. As I said, if you wait until you feel great, you'll never see them at all. Anyway, it worked out okay in the end. We will be getting Chinese takeaway for dinner tonight, which they will pick up on their way out here. And tomorrow we hope hubby is well enough to go out for lunch at a local pub for Fathers Day. @Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51 @Sans911 @Snowie @outlander

Re: Far and Away

That sounds incredibly hard to have to deal with @Former-Member but you did the right thing - as you said they came from so far and wanted to see hubby. It will be nice for you to spend some time with other people as well.

I hope hubby is well enough to go out tomorrow too - it will be nice to have a meal out as well as enjoy the company again too. I'm not sure yet what time I will go to see Dad - really depends on how much I get done tonight.

Hi @Former-Member

Glad it worked out in the end but sorry you had to go through all of that before hand.

Hopefully your hubby is ok to go out tomorrow.

Lots of hugs and

Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope I hope D3 got a lovely dress for her special occasion and that your neck massage helped relieve some of that built up stress. I did my taxes today (as you have probably already seen) but have done little else. I know I badly needed the rest but am now afraid I will not get everything done that needs to be done this weekend - just want to crawl up in a hole really and stay there. Will probably just sleep on the couch again and wake up when I do - then maybe I can get at least a little of it all done. I have put too much pressure on myself and it is affecting me physically and emotionally - the bugger is I can't stop now because that would let the kids down and I can't do that - just need to hold on for another week and get it done I suppose - nothing else I can do.

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Zoe7

D3 did eventually find a dress, and it is just right for the occasion, and for her ...

I ended up cancelling out of my appointment for a massage because we couldn’t fit everything in to the day, and I have come home completely exhausted. Have curled up in bed and D3 brought me some dinner in here, or I was just too tired to organise anything for myself.

I hear you with the birdhouse project @Zoe7 .... can you break it down into even smaller steps where you cut only one at a time, or even one piece at a time, fitting them in whenever and wherever you can ?

Cannyour sister or suster’s partner help ?

Can you get Bunnings to cut the last of them for you ?

Just trying to help you problem-solve it here .....

Re: Far and Away

Unfortunately my sister's partner is away for work this weekend @Faith-and-Hope

I'll get them cut - just need to start as early as I can. I am more worried about the kids getting them all done in the time we have left. I will definitely have to go in Thursday again.

Father's Day is a bugger - not that I don't want to see Dad but the time travelling there and back will take out a big chunk of the day. Then I will have to come home to do the planning - my head was just not in that today. That will take a few hours as well - especially if I do the whole week to help get through the week easier.

Maybe I should do like you are tonight and snuggle up with Toby and not think about it for today anymore - nothing I can do tonight anyway.

Hope you sleep well Hon and can find some more energy tomorrow. So lovely of D3 to bring you some dinner - at least you have eaten and that should help keep up your energy.

Re: Far and Away

Good morning @Zoe7 ☕️💕

I face-planted last night, you would have guessed, and now I have woken up early this morning from strange dreams about my grandmother’s home ..... this is a significant time of loss for me in the year, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I am sorry you are feeling so overwhelmed at the moment. Please try to hold to the fact that you will get through this week, but by bit, and feel relief at the other end of it when it all comes together, but it is hard getting there. One foot after another Hon. I hope you managed some sleep last night, because that will help. I wish I was there to help you ...... 💐💐💐💕💜

Re: Far and Away

I am pleased you face planted last night Hon - you sounded like you were exhausted and really needed the sleep/ I fell asleep on the couch then moved to bed island when I woke up. Slept for nearly 6 hours right through so that is a better night for me.

Losses, memories and significant times of year can certainly give us those dreams @Faith-and-Hope I hope it is not too hard for you over this time sweetheart but do know those dreams can linger in our minds and contribute to our pain as well - very much with you at this time. Keep in mind how proud your Mum and grandmother would be of you in all that you do and all that you are - because you are one amazing lady and that is testament to how you were raised and the love and example that was set for you

I wish you were here to help too @Faith-and-Hope - I can actually imagine us both working hard to get it all done and laughing along with it all too Your company alone would give me the lift I need but I can also go into today with the knowledge that although you are not physically here with me you are in my heart - and that means the world to me

I am up early myself - have fed the fur babies and will likely have a nap soon on the couch. Can't start work for a couple of hours (council restrictions) so have time to rest some more. Then will get stuck into it and hope to do most of it before midday. Then will have a shower and head off to see Dad. I won't stay long so I can get stuck into the planning when I get home. Going to be a long day but necessary.

Hope you have plenty of light in your day Hon - very much sitting with you too

Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope I went up to see Dad early but he was working the horses so I had to wait over an hour to see him. My sister and her partner then came and we had lunch. I left straight after lunch to get home and get started. I have done around half of the birdhouses I need to do this week. Still have the rooves and bases to cut and a few of the kids want extra layers on theirs so need to do those too.

Having a break for a little while - still really tired - nearly fell asleep driving home So the plan is to get them all cut this afternoon and the rest of the housework can wait. I'll have a shower afterwards and that should wake me up enough to get stuck into the planning for a couple of hours ....then bed!

How has your day been? Have you and/or the kids done anything for Father's Day? Have you rang your Dad yet?
