Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope Had a day today when I didn't cope very well. I could feel the day getting away from me and my anxiety increasing. I ended up putting something on the screen for the kids to watch while I did their spelling words - that is one less job I have to do this weekend at least. Realized after the kids had left we didn't even do Father's Day cards - too late now Going to try to do most of the housework tonight so I have the weekend to cut the palings and do planning. If I can get thatnall done tomorrow then I can rest of Sunday ...really need it especially as it looks like I will have to go in this Thirsday again to finish all the birdhouses. That will then give the kids Friday to decorate and the weekend to dry.

I had the parent helper today for most of the day but she only got one completed and another half done so it didn't go according to plan. One of my kids was away too so we couldn't do hers which has also put the timeline out for next week. Very much overwhelmed with it all today but hoping a little rest and having everything planned and organised for the week will help. We have a long PD after school on Tuesday as well - from a family violence counsellor - so I expect that will be a tough night. Thankfully I have a pdoc appointment on Wednesday so anything that comes up I can talk to her about then.

Finances for the next couple of weeks are extremely tight too and that is adding to my stress right now. I am waiting to be paid back from school for some resources and hoping very much that that comes next week. It will certainly help.

Planning on finishing the housework and then settle in tonight to watch the rugby - if I at least get the washing done then that will be one big job out of the way.

Hope you had a great day at uni and the leaking has stopped for today. Let me know how you are when you can - I do worry about you Hon but everyday you bring a little light into my world by just being you - hugs and hugs and hugs

@Shaz51 I hope you got plenty of Smoky love today and your are feeling less tired. Hugs for you too

Re: Far and Away

thank you for the hugs my sister @Zoe7

smoky`s owners stayed home today , they both have MI and decided they needed the day off

they stayed in the garden drinking 2 cups of coffee while we were cleaning for 2 hours

Ha ha smoky did not care that they were home , he followed me around the house xx

I picked him up and gave him a cuddle , he then decided he wanted a much patting as he could , and he got it too

even though I would pat him and then clean somewhere else , he still went ahead of me to the next room waiting fo me

then at the end I put down the mat after washing and smoky sat on it not moving so i could not spread it out

the owner came in and said " smoky " move , ha ha the look he gave his owner

and today smoky decided to look all over our ute xxx

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Zoe7 ..... sounds like you have landed in a bit of a heap for the end of the week, which is no surprise after everything that has been going on for you, including and most specifically the chest infection. Cuddled up on the couch with something in to watch and unwind a bit sounds perfect for a Few day night.

I have had a good day here. Haven’t left for home from uni yet, but will soon. Have been finishing things off and feeling a lot more organised now, coming into the weekend, and I have hair and shoulder massage arranged for tomrrow .... so a self-care day.

I hope you are pleased with the things you have achieved, despite the off-key day and things not going strictly to plan. You have achieved so much this week despite being unwell. You are one powerful butterfly 🦋❣️

I love hearing about Smokey too @Shaz51 , and it is good to hear people prioritising mental health needs ..... 💐💕

Re: Far and Away

I actually saw the person in charge today (our Principal and assistant were away) - she is someone I really respect and like a lot. I told her I had had a tough day and really didn't cope very well. I also told her what I did with the kids to help myself - her reaction was wonderful. She said we all have days like that and much like you also said I had had a very long week so just getting through the day was okay however I did it. That made me feel a little better as I was feeling like I was failing the kids today - time to put it behind me though and look towards the next week

I am so glad you are feeling a little more organised today - that would be a relief for you @Faith-and-Hope Also glad you are looking after yourself tomorrow with the hair appointment and shoulder massage - release some of that built up tension and be pampered a little - you so deserve it

I do get how much I have achieved this week and will feel better when it is all done. We are nearly half way there and I know I can get at least 6-7 birdhouses finished on Thursday if need be. If we can get 2-3 done each day Mon-Wed then we will get them all done. Friday will be spent doing all the little extras and decorating them so it is manageable if all goes well. I will need to have the planning really focussed though to help in that process so will have to spend more time this weekend doing that. One more week and then I can rest more.

Have done the washing up and have my last load of washing on so the housework is underway. I expect to have a later night tonight to get more done (and watch the footy) then will start cutting in the morning so I have the afternoon for planning. No football tomorrow so nothing to distract me.

Re: Far and Away

I am so glad the person in charge said that to you @Zoe7 ..... after your previous experience last year it’s important for you to receive that sort of validation.

Yes, now it is the weekend you can go at your own pace again .... and stop and rest whenever you need to.

Re: Far and Away

Thanks Hon - it was good to hear. I certainly did have that little voice in the back of my head from last year not helping my own thoughts today. So good to have the support.

Got to cut Toby's hair too - poor little mite has his eyes completely covered - if I at least get around his eyes done then he will be able to see properly I'll do that before I vacuum - might even try to do it tonight as he is already settled on the couch.

If I look at all there is to do this weekend and this coming week I will be totally overwhelmed so it is probably a good thing that the footy is on tonight - can rest for a couple of hours at least ...just enjoy the game and try not to think about anything else for that time.

How long are you going to spend at uni tonight @Faith-and-Hope Hope you can have some downtime too tonight ...and can eat well also.
