Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Went through it with dad too, for years. Never thought mum would end up like this. She’s always been strong and helping others. She wants to go to heaven. Broke my heart when she kept asking me to take her home. @Zoe7 💜

Hi @Gazza75 Nice to meet you. I see you often behind the support button. Thanks for your support. 🌻👋

Need to try and relax now.

Might be back later. 💜💖

Re: Far and Away

Very much hearing you @Former-Member My Nan told me just weeks before she died that she had had enough and wanted to die - it broke my heart - both hearing that and seeing her so unwell and struggling. It is not easy at all watching those we love feeling that unhappy in this life. I really struggled with wanting her to be around longer and also wanting her pain to end but every little moment you can spend with them is precious so value that and your love for your Mum Hon.

Take care of yourself tonight sweetheart and jump back on if you feel you can later - you have us right behind you and supporting you

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Zoe7 @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Former-Member @oceangirl @Gazza75 .... anyone else around 👋💕

I have had a good day at uni, getting on with projects that are under way.

I got the competition piece set up the way I want it, but I am not starting on it until tomorrow, so I get other uni work done tonight, and then it will be a major distraction for me tomorrow when I need it.

We have a home-open tomorrow night, and thanks to the furniture and personal stuff swap-around a few weeks ago, I have no chance of getting the house ready for it ..... so I am not. It’s tidy enough, and I will put clothes and study things away, but the bathrooms, floors, oven and fridge are being done by cleaners ...... which as much as it is a help, also feels like an invasion of already-small personal space.

Oh, and there is tradesman no. 459 coming too ....

So I am doing my special project then.

Its all designed to make living here work out for us, so there is a good dose of gratitude mixed in with this, and for my mr. who will enable it all because it’s what he wants too.

@Zoe7 Trying to put something together over there. Not sure what it is, but I just don’t like my thread anymore, hard to go there. Got an update so off I go.😩

Re: Far and Away

I hear you Hon about the invasion of your space @Faith-and-Hope but on the positive side it is work you do not need to do before the open home and more time you can spend on your art ...and that I love to hear.

You have set yourself up really well - getting uni work done tonight so you can concentrate on the competition piece tomorrow when you need a major distraction - well done you

Re: Far and Away

So many hugs and hugs @Former-Member . You have been through this with one parent, so you know just how hard it is ...... as @Zoe7 said. hold tight to all the special moments. As heartbreaking as they are, they are treasures too .... and she says what is on her heart to you because you are her treasure. I don’t think any of us is ever ready to go through these things, so all we can do is take it one moment at a time.

Feeling so much for you, and others in the same boat. Some are stoic and pragmatic, others not. It’s okay to be however you need to be ..... keep reminding yourself of that and accept the fall-apart days for what they are ..... a way to try and cope ......

Re: Far and Away

It’s a tricky time, as things have been awkward with mum and I for a very long time. But, as she deteriorates I choose not to think about all the hurts and try to be there when I can.

Nothing prepares you for this.

She thought I was her sister. And cried when I left and said, I’ll be ok.

So hard to leave her, when she wanted to come home with me.

I hate seeing old people go through this, especially parents.

No words to describe it.

Thankfully no siblings etc were there. So I was able to stay for a while.

I hope I can be strong enough to visit more often. Oh gosh!

A step at a time.

Thanks so much @Faith-and-Hope @Zoe7 I know you understand.

My heart is broken again. With D and now this.

Love and hugs for what you’re both going through.

🥰😘💜💖🌷☕️
