Hi everyone @Zoe7 @Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Sans911 @BlueBay @Bunniekins @outlander @Maggie and everyone else who uses this thread.
I arrived home last night from my Dads place. No Mumi, its 12 hours (minimum) by train. But only 7 hours actual driving time, plus fuel and refreshment stops. Usually means I'm on the road about 8 hours all up. Not too bad I guess, but hard when its just the one driver .. me. I got so tired the last 2 hours ... started with the slow blinking, and kept having to shake myself to stay awake. Not ideal I know, but when I have a long drive to do, I generally try to get as far as I can before I make my first stop. Because I know after a break, I tend to really get very tired and have nodded off before now.
Anyway I got home around 5pm last night and kinda crashed, so didnt check in until now. Sorry about that. So much I had to do once I got home. Plus a GP appointment for hubby today as well. He had a couple of falls while we were away, and is very sore and sorry for himself right now. Got more pain killers from his Dr today, enough to keep him going until the next visit. He has 4 specialist apts coming up for August - psychiatrist, oncologist, neurologist and endocrinologist. Urgh .... 😵 No wonder I'm sick of hospitals and Drs surgeries. The past 2 years I think I have spent more time in hospitals and Drs waiting rooms than anywhere else combined. What ... between my Mums hospitalisations, then my Dad with a stroke last October, and hubbys numerous month long hospitalisations. Sigh ... so tired of it all.
I did get away nice and early yesterday and called by my Mums grave yesterday morning. It was looking lovely with some beautiful flowers on her grave. She really did love flowers. So it offered a kind of a private farewell, while there was nobody else around. More tears though, which made it more difficult once I hit the road again. I think I need to get my eyes checked again .... my eyesight really does seem quite bad. I know I have floaters, which just keep appearing. They said they would reduce and my brain would adjust to them being around. But nope ... just getting worse and more noticeable unfortunately.
Okay, enough of a rave. Really just wanted to let everyone know I am home safe, and hope to be around a bit more again soon.
Sherry
