Ha ha @Zoe7 @Faith-and-Hope I must be from pre-dinosaur days then. There were no computers at all when I was at school. I left at the end of Year 12 in 1976. Not even any talk about computers back then.

Hi @Appleblossom and good night @oceangirl sorry you are not feeling well.

Sherry 😀

Re: Far and Away

Glad I have not caused upset. @Zoe7 It is often hard to really know.

You would be proud of me, I went to an arty farty crafty day yesterday with a bunch of lovely people and we did paper mache (with purpose - to decorate and add humour to gigs) and one lady was putting chicken wire all over our class clowns head (grown up male) I had to rescue him as it was sticking into his neck ... she was happily ignoring all his ouches ... I had never used wire in paper mache so a real beginner.

Handing out packing tape ... it wont mend hearts but maybe hold it together a little while other healing can take place.

You are emotionally smart Zo ... so bottom line ... do what you have to do.

Btw I get all weird synchronicities around names these dayz ... have a few Zoes in my life now. One has a similar personality to you. Very sensitive.

Excellent @Zoe7 ..... I actually drop herbal teabags into my cold water bottle because I like the fruity flavours.

My Dad was a computer tech at one stage when I was little .... there was only one computer in the company, and it took up the whole room !! The tech work was translating processes into computer languages to be fed into the conputer for it to do its computations with ..... sounds so strange now, right ?

Good night @oceangirl . I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well tonight. Can you take a chamomile tea to bed with you too ?

@Appleblossom I haven’t seen that pyramid before.

Re: Far and Away

@Zoe7 The talk to text option on the smartphones is great. I personally dont use it, but I taught hubby how to use it recently. He really struggled with texting coz of his parkinsons (shaky). I bought a smartphone for his birthday a couple of months back. His prev phone was a dinosaur. Now I cant shut him up. Its funny though because when he dictates his message its completely different to his usual talking voice. Great innovation though.

Re: Far and Away

Thanks @Appleblossom Unfortunately my emotions both help and hinder me and the negative side usually wins out. I have finally stopped crying tonight - been 2 days of it. Earlier today I made the decision to leave - thinking I could not come back from this pain - but others here I care about so much where here for me and our @Faith-and-Hope told me to park it up for now - so that is what I am doing.

I love that you were doing papier mache with wire - that is what I use. I actually love shaping the wire as much as I do covering it with papier mache

I remember the coding we used to do at high school and how much more complicated it is now @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @Appleblossom Times certainly have moved on in the tech world - and not always for the better! Your dad must be one smart cookie F&H

I encouraged my mum to get a similar phone as me so I could help her when she had questions on how to use it - but she probably uses hers for more than me now.

Re: Far and Away

I found that with my latest sculpture work that had wire armourage @Zoe7 .... loved finding the shape in the wire before I started with the cladding.

My Dad resisted technology for years (go figure .... ex computer technition ??). Just before we lost my Mum, she “went around him” and bought a pre-paid mobile phone for herself. It saved the day when we needed an emergency communication call ..... she was one smart woman ❣️ The irony was that he continued to use it after she had passed .... and has now upgraded a few tunes since 😆. I taught him to text ..... sooooo proud of him.

Re: Far and Away

Some of the huge animals I have made have taken a lot of sculpting with wire. I tend to be able to work better in larger things than small. Each of the animals I have made with the kids have been life size @Faith-and-Hope The giraffe that you have seen is my favourite but we did have a baby elephant that was pretty gorgeous too - that one did not survive though as I had nowhere to store in and it lived outside for a long time. The weather finally got to it and it is now waiting to go to the tip - poor little elephant It was unsalvageable!

I have no doubt your mum was one smart woman - you so much take after her Hon
