Re: Far and Away

Feeling a bit better this morning @Faith-and-Hope My head is still all over the place but not feeling it as physically as I was last night. I did sleep for nearly 7 hours before I woke up with another nightmare but then slept for another hour on the couch. Will most likely sleep for a bit longer soon as I am still very tired.

Hope you got some work done and S2 did as well. Are you off to church this morning?

Hi @Zoe7 @Former-Member @Former-Member ..... I can see you found your way here. I am presuming the notifications short-cut is not working for you guys either ?

There is a thread started by @Bunniekins under Latest Posts. I think @MummaMia thoughr it was only a few people affected. I suspect it’s the whole forum.

Re: Far and Away

I am off to church a bit later @Zoe7 , but it will probably be a fly-by. Two of the kids were setting up a new communication device that they can use to communicate across the divide, and S2 created a chat space for all the baby dragons to use ..... which means they can stay in much closer contact with each other as a group, around both their dad and me ..... 🎉

I am so impressed !! They have used teamwork to improve their bond and support for each other, and have done it independently.

In the process S2 linked the twins, so kept D2 up really late in the process, which meant I was too ..... and then still woke up at my normal time ..... so will need to nap again sometime today. Don’t know if I can doze off again now. Have hunger pangs ..... so should probably just get up and go for coffee, and try again later.

D2 is not coming to church this morning. S2 has asked for her to stay home and join in the first “all dragons” convention. He might not have got any homework done, but this was just as important, and part of his let-down earlier in the day, so helped to heal feelings around that too ....

Re: Far and Away

Incidentally, all the western dragon babies bar one were at the football last night, but not their dad ..... unheard-of. Turns out he stayed home tired, sore, and “grouchy”. Looks like fatigue and current injury have caught up with him at the moment, and perhaps some baby dragon fire as well .....

Banding together gives them a combined voice, which I am sure will be difficult for me at times when their opinion swings against me ..... but they will debate things amongst themselves, form common opinions, agree to disagree, and put all their formative parental training to use. In this way, the strength of the eldest two can help guide the younger ones through their earlier parenting, before our world tipped.

I am beyond words to say how much that means. They’re flying .......

Re: Far and Away

That is awesome @Faith-and-Hope You have one clever S2 there and I'm sure all the baby dragons will love that connection. It will also allow them to talk more regularly and keep that close bond - so important and so lovely.

I love that S2 wants D2 to stay with him - he must be still sorry bout missing out on the event he organised yesterday but this will make up for that and that is important for both of them - especially S2 - he really does sound like a very kind hearted young man and that is wonderful

Coffee sounds like a great idea if you cannot doze off until later. It is a shame you didnt get to sleep early but I can see how D2 being up and making those connections was suoer important too - so rest when you can today Hon.

Not planning on doing much myself today - grass is too wet to mow but maybe able to move some things onto the trailer if it clears a little later. Then watching my team play later today in the NRL - will probably do some ironing while that is on. The remainder of the day I have a cuople of things I would like to watch on iview and of course the vacuuming needs doing - but apart from that a quiet day planned.

Re: Far and Away

Those times that he is 'too tired' or 'too' sore' to be part of fmily things will no doubt increase as his heath takes a downward spiral. Something will give - and sadly it ill not be in a good way - and the baby drsgons will be seeing that and like everyone will be concerned.

It is good that they are banding together and will hopefully voice their concerns as one to Mr. - whether he takes that on board or accepts what they are saying is another matter but it will be obvious (hopefully) that all baby dragons are being affected by his obsessions ...one can only hope that is the case anyway and begins the process of him seeking help.

Re: Far and Away

I need to get vacuuming done today too @Zoe7 , maybe after coffee. Washed my sheets yesterday, but returned from the Art Space so late and so tired I ended up sleeping on a bare mattress under just-blankets, so remaking the bed, vacuuming. and putting on next rounds of washing is probably going to be when I get back. I am still slowly processing linen from the western dragon’s visit.

Re: Far and Away

That is a huge part of the value of their independent voice @Zoe7 . It makes it clear that I am not influencing them and they are relying on their own observations and intelligence. with the older two taking up a mentoring position.

I takes pressure off me too, as the parenting itself is done now ..... even as parents their dad and I ought to have assumed that mentoring role, rather than actively parenting any more. They have worked out a way to enable this ......

Re: Far and Away

Really should change my bed too @Faith-and-Hope and also wash my couch doona cover. It is startung to smell like 'dog' as we both use it to sleep with - usually me under the doona and Toby on top of it on me lol I might need to give it a couple more days though as it is still wet here and looks like rain again today.

Just watch an interview with Casey Donovan - she is an impressive young woman - so much she has endured and yet she still has a smile on her face and love in her heart. I was never a fan of hers - ambiguous in my view really but that interview showed her in a completely different light and I was impressed.
