Re: Far and Away

Thanks @Zoe7 . I am getting g sleepy and will probably face-plant .... lol.

You can probably tell I have been a bit down the last couple of days ..... probably used to mr. being away for the half-weeks now, which he wasn’t this week .... although its been an okay 24 hours or so. He was late to the movie today and stressed everyone out, cos the boys had the tickets, and he came later still, after the movie had started.

He has injured his leg, so can’t jog, and is power-walking the same route, morning and evening instead .... :face_with_rolling_eyes: ....which takes double the time. It’s throwing his time-management further out of whack .....

Yeah Hon - knew you weren't doing so well but you have still been doing an amazing job doing things with your kids and trying to keep everyone together ...as usual. But could tell you were struggling with the big picture of it all. I didn't know Mr. was not away this week - kinda hoped you had sometime with your baby dragons on your own ...Mr. being there makes that extra hard.

Some of what you have written - on other threads mostly - have shown me how you have been feeling but it is also good that you can share so much to help others as well.

You know I think you are amazing but we all have those patches where things are not quite right and you need a little love as well. ...so sending you a whole lot of that tonight and some niece and nephew cuddles as well

I'm glad @Faith-and-Hope She is a bit of a cutie (I know I am biased) She is presently sleeping near the heater and will probably stay there until it is dinner time. Love my little girl but happy to share her with you.

How did lunch go?

Re: Far and Away

A bit up and down @Zoe7 , but not mr. directly. His choices and ideas are creating discord and difference of opinion which I am struggling with a bit ..... but I need to keep walking along with it till something irons itself out .... and it will ..... eventually.

Re: Far and Away

That kind of tension must certainly be having an effect on the family dynamics @Faith-and-Hope and not at all easy to deal with when you are trying to hold your family together with some kind of unity. I do hope it works itself out but also hopes it doesnt take a major medical emergency in relation to Mr. in order to do that. That is the direction I see his obsessions going from what you have described of both his physical condition and food related issues. I do also hope your kids see how much you are doing to hold everyone and everything together despite the obstacles placed in your way. You can only do what you are presently and hope ,that it does iron itself out in time.

Re: Far and Away

It’s causing conflict of values amongst us @Zoe7. There is a dependence on materialism to express and support a sense of identity and success wrapped up in all this, that was not our joint value system previously ..... but it was the value system of the extended family .....

This has been part of the “switch”, and it is both hard to control and / or explain the reasons for or against living a certain way once the boundaries have been trashed and viewpoint is no longer clear.

I hope that is making sense.

It can actually cause a collapse of self-esteem ..... and that becomes the entry point for the illness of one to impact on others, when they can’t recognise it as an illness and they think they are being generous ..... and I am being what ?? Take your pick - jealous, oppositional, jealous, mean-spirited, jealous ...... :face_with_rolling_eyes:

You’re right, of course .... I can only do what I can do, and try to say what I need to say ..... and time is needed ..... and some space and distance from the problems, without being able to control

any of that either.

So it doesn’t come across as all doom and gloom, these are pinch points ...... and as unsettling as they are, you deal with them as best you can in the moment, and then they pass ..... one way or another ...... and you deal with how they have moved on, which can provide bother opportunity to speak up and try to secure the boundaries.

The earlier struggle moment has passed, and I am going to mosey around the forums a bit and distract myself here.

Hi 👋💕

Re: Far and Away

I think when a reliance on materialism becomes so prominent it is much harder to see what is the truth within people @Faith-and-Hope Those previous values that have been so much of developing the people your baby dragons are are certainly still in there but take longer to come out as they are somewhat dazzled by the superficiality of what Mr. presents along a material line. Much of that masks the reality because those baby dragons see that they are being given all that they need but do not fully understand the intentions behind all that. What you provide them is the morlity and values that make them better human beings - ones that value individuals for who they are and not what their bank balance is or their accumulated wealth superficially sho them to be. It is not an easy road to forge when the oppostion is on a superficial level but you have given then the basic tools to see above all that - it may just take time for that message to get through.
