I really can’t see where life is taking me at the moment. I am just pursuing this course for now, and see where it leads. Most, if not all of our teachers are practicing artists, so whether doing this course will enable me to teach art I don’t know, but my home circumstances wouldn’t cope with it in the here and now ..... but who knows ? I didn’t expect to be where I am even a year ago.

Exactly Hon - who knows what the future holds. I could actually see you taking art classes for those with MI as day programs @Faith-and-Hope You would be amazing at it

Perhaps this is where my experiences are leading me @Zoe7 , I don’t know ..... but your belief in me is wonderful support.

The nature of the pd traits in the family are hard on self-esteem if you are one who represents opposition to what they want ..... it’s a force to be reckoned with in times of combat, that’s for sure ..... but when there is no real threat, and it’s unchecked, it’s an over-the-top and destructive pattern.

At least I’m getting that message through to the baby dragons ...... and after I have weathered their dragon-fire they generally come back and apologise, and talk about what they could have done to manage the situation, and their feelings, instead. They are wonderful, sensitive, creative beings regardless .....

Maybe that is where all your experiences are leading you Hon - you really would be wonderful at it. You could also do it with limited preparation and at times that best suited you - something worth thinking about in the future anyway

Your baby dragons have come a long way @Faith-and-Hope and are learning those skills from your example - don't underestimate how much your patience and keeping your cool under pressure has on them - especially when the alternative is so controlling. Keep doing what you are doing and your baby dragons will continue to learn those skills to deal with both their emotions and difficult/challenging situations.

I never thought I would have 4 wonderful step children , it has been hard , very tiring and trying i must say but looking back over the years I was meant to be there ( not thinking I am better than their mum -- no way )
