Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope I slept in this morning after being up during the night again. The fur babies woke me for their breakfast - Cat was definitely hungry as she was on the bed talking loudly to me lol

It is a clear day today after a little rain overnight so hoping the grass is dry enough by this afternoon to mow it. If I get the vacuuming done as well then I will feel a little better. I also feel better when the backyard is mowed and the vacuuming is done.

I feel a little more awake this morning than I have done over the weekend but still waking up during the night so although the reduction in one of my night meds may be helping with not feeling so tired in the morning it is not helping with sleeping through the night. I don't see my pdoc this week so will continue with the present dose until I do and see how I am going then. I am going to take my night meds super early tonight and hope that I don't feel so tired tomorrow morning as a result. Tuesdays are a long day at work - not finishing until 4.30 but also hoping I can get Toby in to see the vet tomorrow afternoon - that will depend on whether his vet is working and if I can get an appointment though.

Re: Far and Away

Good morning @Zoe7 ...,. and anyone else around.

I woke early, so I know I am not getting quite enough sleep, but I managed to doze here for another hour or so.

It’s forecast to be a hot day, so I am planning to head down to “my” coffee shop early. It’s the start of our Easter prep, so it’s an almost vegan eating pattern now for the next few weeks ..... and I am going to head towards an almond-milk coffee, and probably a smoothie of some sort.

I hope your sleeping pattern begins to re-settle. How lovely to be woken up by Cat’s chat ..... even if it was a whinge or a chastisement lol ..... and I hope you do manage to get Toby into the vet tomorrow.

Re: Far and Away

I do like being woken by Cat as it means I get some cuddles in too before I have to get up to feed her @Faith-and-Hope Toby starts jumping along the side of the bed when he knows I am awake so the Cat cuddles are precious before he takes over my attention lol

It is not surprising your sleep is all over the place a little with the different time zones and all that you have been doing. Hopefully tonight it will be a little better for you Hon. As I said before - I am going to take my night meds earlier tonight to see if I can feel a little more awake tomorrow morning for the work day. I think the reduction in the meds is helping me feel a little more awake in the morning but messing with my sleep a little - nothing I can't handle but annoying when I wake in the middle of the night.

It will be great for you to be able to go to your coffee place and have some of that familiarity around you - I love hearing about you doing the things you love to do in your home town - it is those small moments of joy that you need to hold onto to carry you forward - especially when you return back east.

Will you be seeing D1 and/or S1 today? What other plans do you have for the day?

Re: Far and Away

I will be picking D1 up from her appointment later this morning and we are going to a movie this afternoon.

Mr took S2, D2 and D3 to what would ordinarily be a family movie on Friday night ( a franchise movie = part of a sequel of movies that we all see together when they come out) rather than waiting until I could join them this week ...... he hasn’t really spoken to me since our argument last Tuesday, and I was expecting some sort of vindictive move. It’s so subtle that it has you questioning whether you’re making mountains out of molehills, but that is the nature of the passive-aggressive behaviours. He booked it, without consulting the kids first when he has been asking them to make all movie bookings, and he made it Gold Class ..... but if asked he would have said it was something special to take their minds off me being away ??!! When it was a movie we would ordinarily be reserving to see together ?? It just makes them more conscious of me being away. And the “specialness” is rubbing my nose in it .....

If there had been open communication about it, no problem, but it was an underhand arrangement designed to upset and annoy. The kids knew that, and without me pointing it out they just told me to not worry about it, and they will come to see it again with me.

Enough of that though ..... there will be more of this sort of carry-on ahead of us, and it’s important to ignore it.

D1 and I are going to see a movie that is our own interest area - historical fiction - and I am looking forward to it. A close friend is meeting up with us for coffee afterwards.

Re: Far and Away

It is great that your kids understand what Mr. has done with the movie taking them without you but I can understand that that is upsetting still Hon. It is not making mountains out of molehills at all - it is vindictive and excluding you. The kids are certainly seeing through all that though and that can only strengthen the relationship you hvae with them - so silver linings maybe...

You can ignore those kind of moves to a certain extent but it is still hurtful and you are allowed to feel that pain @Faith-and-Hope No doubt there will be plenty more of those types of moves from Mr. but what he doesn't realise is that your kids are growing up and are beginning to see exactly what is happening and will start to push back more against that behaviour - that will come more with their own independence when that happens.

I am really pleased though to hear you and D1 are going to a movie together and also that you are meeting up with a close friend afterwards - part of being in the east is you missing out on those close relationships so this is so nice for you to have today. Savour every moment while you are there Hon and enjoy the company of both D1 and your friend

My sister and her dog just cam for a visit. It is quite funny watching her dog go through Toby's toy collection - he gets right in there and spreads the toys everywhere until he finds one he likes. In the end he brought his favourite toy from outside inside so that in itself was funny. It was nice to have her visit - I am still in my jammies but that is okay. My mum also rang while she was here so it was a family gathering of sorts She stayed for nearly an hour which was nice - not too long but long enough to chat and play with the fur babies. Toby sat on the back of the couch for most of the time and just got lots of pats. He pretty much stays away from her dog when he is playing. When my sister left she told me not to do too much this afternoon and wear myself out - she is right but I still want to get the mowing and vacuuming done. I also still need to do some grocery shopping but that can wait until tomorrow or Wednesday - depends when I get Toby into the vet.

I hope you are enjoying the movie with D1 @Faith-and-Hope and have a nice catch up with your close friend afterwards

I have mowed the backyard, cleaned the bathroom, put the pillow and cushion covers back on and put some more washing on. Haven't yet gotten to the vacuuming but thinking I will do that tomorrow night instead because I have to iron a few things for this week first - feeling pretty tired now. I think it is best I rest now before work tomorrow - definitely going to take meds early tonight and get an early night.
