Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: FAR AND AWAY

Hearing you @Zoe7

It makes me think that even the smallest of things can pull us down sometimes.

For example, I keep leaning on one of my elbows so the skin has come off. It's not healing because I'm always irritating it when I lean on it... it's annoying because it won't heal. Hence, something like this reminds me of those little annoyances that give us pain in out bodies and can really have longer term impacts.

I'm thinking of you and hope you have an okay day back at school tomorrow!

@tyme I am feeling a bit better about tomorrow as we have until after lunch in our classrooms then meetings all afternoon. Tuesday we have meetings all day but Wednesday is in our classrooms for the day. I have not been well today - most likely the stress flaring up my IBS but feeling better this evening. I will have an extra early night so I can get up and pack the car with things to go back to school. I was going to do it this evening but I am worn out and it is also raining. I have a list of things I need to do but no doubt that will be added to tomorrow - one thing at a time for now. I can usually pull things together pretty quickly so I will prioritise tomorrow.

I hear you about your elbows. I have a couple of bumps and bruises that won't heal because I keep hitting them. There is one on my foot especially that I keep dropping things on but that is my fault as I don't like wearing shoes unless I have to lol

My basketball team had a win this afternoon so that has given me a little happiness boost 👍

Re: FAR AND AWAY

Glad to hear you are feeling a little bit better about tomorrow. Is it because before, you hadn't yet heard about what you were doing for the 3 days? Sometimes, the unknown can be quite anxiety-provoking @Zoe7

Is it normal that you have so much time before the kids start? As I said, in Vic, you just start the next day... it must be really hard for teachers, or they'd have to come in their own time to set up - which I think is unfair.

Quick question. Have you ever taught overseas? @Zoe7

Anyway, if you don't get to answer, totally okay. I'm mindful you need to prepare for tomorrow.

I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Hope it goes well.

Re: FAR AND AWAY

No I have not taught overseas @tyme but intended to. I began studying for teaching after I came back from overseas and that was my intention ....to go back to England and teach but I was not in a good place so never made it back.

It has been the last couple of years that we start so much earlier than the kids ...and gone from 2 days to 3. I like it because it gives me time to get organised. I usually spend the first couple of weeks around Christmas to get some things sorted so I do not have as much to do when we go back. This year will be a little more hectic though as I had to move classes. The upside is I have most things packed and labelled and know where everything needs to go - just the time to do it all. I was going to go in last week but could not face it. I have moved a whole class in an afternoon before when we were flooded so 3 days is a luxury lol

Re: FAR AND AWAY

Oh yeah @Zoe7 , I vaguely remember you saying that you didn't have to move classrooms last year. Did I get that right? And are you teaching 1/2 again?

And yes, 3 days it DEFINITELY a luxury!

@Shaz51 , I hope those levels stablise.

Re: FAR AND AWAY

Was in my previous room for past 2 years but our Principal likes all grades to be together. We have one grade 1 this year (my class) and a Prep/1 so my colleague teacher who was on a grade 1 last year had to move also so all the preps could be close. The good thing is my colleague teacher and I stay together - she is amazing to work with and I am very fond of her. She certainly makes being at work a nice place to be @tyme She only works 4 days a week but the teacher doing the other day I like a lot too so it should be a great year. A couple of the other teachers in our team annoy me a bit but that is nothing I cannot handle.

Re: FAR AND AWAY

That sounds great that you can stay together and you have someone you work well with. As for the ones that annoy you, I guess that can be in any workplace, right? @Zoe7

I really hope your IBS settles a bit and tomorrow goes well for you. To be honest, you are doing a lot to work full time, support your parents as well as still keep so active doing things.

Sounds really healthy to be honest.

Re: FAR AND AWAY

It is the 'other' things that keep me sane @tyme ...I have learnt to prioritise and compartmentalise and that has helped with my mental health also. Life is certainly much different than it was when I first came here but I would not be in this place without SANE....
