A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

Going to do some more of them tonight @Faith-and-Hope I have all the months of the year done. Watching basketball now. Our Jackjumpers are ahead so that is good. I used to go to the basketball when we last had a team in the national league back in the 80s - Mum and sometimes Pop would also go. Pop loved basketball and athletics - he watched my sister nearly every week race and to some of my basketball games until I stopped playing.

Re: Far and Away

Everyone except my Nan @Faith-and-Hope She hated watching me especially play softball as she always feared me getting hurt. The funny thing is - she was not wrong - every week I would have a scrape or bump (sometimes worse).

Re: Far and Away

My parents were sport loving players @Zoe7 . My sibs and I were decidedly not !! My Mum broke several fingers. My Dad suffered dislocation …. It was me watching them through my fingers, braced for seeing them injured.

Re: Far and Away

That is funny @Faith-and-Hope it is usually the other way around. We definitely got it from our parents - they were both really sporty and good at whatever they chose to do. It was really difficult for me to give up sport - I used to have something on most days.

Re: Far and Away

I have inherited a love of casual sports @Zoe7, things that are non-competitive …. walking, swimming, dabbling with things like kayaking, archery, cycling, indoor rock climbing, roller skating, that sort of thing, so all is not lost - lol 😂

I know (presume ?) you like skiiing @Snowie. Would you consider yourself sporty too ?

👋💕 Hi to anyone else around this morning.

Re: Far and Away

Despite participating in competitive sports for half of my life @Faith-and-Hope I also prefer the non-competitive pursuits. Kayaking is my favourite however I have not been on the water for a few years. Physically I have not been able to do it - cannot lift my kayak onto the roof racks and would not be able to paddle for long ...hoping once I can get my back right then I can start to build up muscles again and get back into it.

I do not like walking unless there is a reason lol I have always been that way with running/walking - had to have a ball or bat in my hands. When we would do our runs for softball I would take a ball with me LOL

Archery is one thing I have always wanted to try. Had a couple of goes at it on school camps and loved it.

Also loved skiing the couple of times I have been (both on school camps again). Too far away to do on my own though.

Re: Far and Away

morning @Zoe7 , @Faith-and-Hope 😊

My mum was very active and in lots of different sports when she was younger but her life discissions had change that for a while

then when mum was single again she took up golf, ten pin bowling , volunteering

me on the other hand not into sports as due to my physical problems but I did keep active and swimming with a couch who got me to go to the 'Masters ' 😁
