Far and Away

Goodmorning Hon. Not much to update you on this afternoon - have been doing some painting of our peacock - using acryliics for the background which as you know is much quicker than with the oils ...waiting for the last lot to dry before I do some more. I was asked to head out to go fishing tonight but I am really tired and it is quite a drive so staying home to paint and then hopefully get an early night.

I got my meds finally yesterday but haven;t sorted them out yet - that is my next job tonight.

I have some washing on and will do one more load. Despite being very tired I need to get it done so tonight is as good a time as any.

Just watching the news and chilling on here while waiting for it to be finished then will probably unpack the rest of my Christmas stuff and put it away. Mum gave me some foot bathing salts which I might use tonight before bed - peppermint and tea tree so should smell nice as well as being soothing. I would love to know what you got but will have to wait until you return home. I can't wait until this time passes - giving you updates is nt the same as conversing with you - I really miss that

It is getting closer to being half way so that is a good thing from my perspective @Faith-and-Hope.

Need to water our plants as it has been a warm day today - not as hot as other parts of the country - quite pleasant infact in the mid 20s - the next week is supposed to be the same after a little rain on the weekend.

Looking forward to going to the Taste of Tasmanian tomorrow - great food and good company will make it an enjoyable day - then will probably do some more painting when I get home.

I remembered to put the rubbish and recycling out today so the morning has begun productively. I am going to change the bed and Toby's bed, do all the washing and get it all out in what is supposed to be a beautiful day. Then hoping to head to the Taste of Tasmania. I haven't heard anything from my sister yet but will shower soon and get ready just in case she calls. I don't know whether we are going to go for lunch or dinner though but at least I can do what I need in the meantime ...and I can paint while waiting to hear too. I have planned to do a little more f the background during the day and then start the peacock in oils tonight. There is also cricket on tonight but not going to the game this time - will watch it on tv if I am home.

Hoping you had a good day and are beginning to wind down for the evening - I like knowing the time difference - makes me feel more connected again with you.

@Faith-and-Hope Hi Faith-and-Hope 🙂 I am really hoping that you are having a fabulous time with your travels. Cannot wait to hear about it all when you return. I have had a very relaxing Chrissy just with kids and ex popping over at Christmas Eve. Am looking forward to NYE and what the New Year will bring :)xxxx.

I'm sure I have missed you for this morning and you are hopefully sleeping now @Faith-and-Hope. I have had a very slow start to the day - gotten out to the supermarket and bought a few things - need to do a big shop later in the week but will most likely do that on Wednesday after my psych appointment. The art shop is close to where I go for that in the city so hoping they are open and I can get some more paint brushes with my christmas voucher from my sister.

I have also managed to get the washing off the line and folded it all - last lot on the line drying now. It will not take long to dry as it is warm and very windy again today.

Hopefully tomorrow is a better day and my sister and I can go to the Taste of Tasmania. They have a casual seating area on the grass as well as tables and chairs on the actual waterfront - might try for an outside spot on the waterfornt for mains and then a more casual setting on the grass for dessert (got to have both at the Taste - all Tasmanian produce and very fresh - so pancakes for dessert it will probably be lol) I of course will be taking you with me and thinking about you when I have my pancakes

Tomorrow I will get the NYE thread organised for all those joining us on the forum, There seems to be a lot of people absent over this festive season - you being one - but I am hoping to make it a pleasant night for all those that join us ...and I know you will be around behind the support button when you can. Not sure I will be able to stay awake for everyone to see the new year in but am going to try - can always sleep in a little new year's day (until the fur babies wake me anyway lol) - then can feed then and go back to sleep if I need.

Toby still needs a bath and a haircut and today would be a good day to do both then get the towels washed and dried afterwards - not sure I will get to it but it is on the agenda. I really want to get more of the dining table cleared off - still a lot of work stuff on there but nowhere really to put it all right now. The spare room still has all my boxes stacked in there and until I get the garage roof and walls done I can't move things into there - and until I have another school to go to I can't move things there either. It would be great if I could stack those in the garage but I can't move things in there and make room until the roof is done - the last thing I need is to have to replace more stuff as the roof still leaks on one side and the wall needs to be rebuilt. I can do the wall but need help with the roof.

Going to do some more of the painting this afternoon - it is very slowly getting there. I really am concentrating on the background for now then will work on the peacock when that is done. I have an image in my mind on how I want it to look - just finding it hard getting it onto the canvas in between letting parts of it dry. Still hoping to have it done for when you return home though ...will be back at work then too so very much hoping the majority of it is done.

Will update you tonight with how much I do (and don't) achieve today.

I have been painting again today - done a fair bit of the first stage of the background - letting it dry a little before I do the next stage - it is slowly coming together and that is pleasing.

Toby and Cat are well and send you huge hugs as do I

I just finished the first stage of the background for our peacock painting so will let it dry again now and maybe do a little more before I go to bed tonight. It is in our colours but with much more pink/purple and blue than green. I will post an image of it as soon as I have done the next stage so you can see what I have done so far.
