Far and Away

I didn't either @Snowie I was pushed towards certain things but finally found my own path ....but that took years. The turning points for me were when my grandparents died and after I travelled - that time away from everything was what I had craved for and so much needed for so long. It had been years of abuse and not knowing who I was ...and without my grandparents (Nan in particular) I was so lost. Travelling allowed me to feel free of all those constraints and just be me - knowing that just around the corner was not the chance of running into anyone I knew nor having to endure more of the same - so it was not only the beautiful places I visited that helped but also the freedom to know I was safe.

I'm glad you found your way hon @Zoe7 and at the same time got to see some beautiful places.

I too was pushed into a uni degree I didn't like, but changed after a year. So glad I finally stood up and expressed my own desires without living through others.

It sounds like your Nan was such a huge part of your life. I am glad you had your grandparents.

I have also learnt over the years that family doesn't have to be blood related. Some of my closest family are friends that have been in my life for a long time.

I was so fortunate to have such an amazing Nan - she was my best friend @Snowie Both my grandparents were amazing - they did so much for us as it was often a struggle for my Mum. Dad was never home and when he was we would be walking on eggshells - so glad my relationship with him is better now but he can still be difficult. I don't take his shite though and let him know he is out of line or I just walk away. I do that with most of my family now and that has been a massive change in my life.

We went to work this morning and then went food shopping and we had to stop at three servos to put air into our Ute tire @tyme

My nan was wonderful, I only had one growing up and we could drop in any time , and have her wonderful treats anytime xxxxx
