I cleaned up our patio this afternoon as the neighbours cats have been there at night time

And Mr shaz cleaned half of the outside walls of the house

Dad was operated on yesterday and is doing a little better today. He has had constant IV ABs to get on top of the infection that was making him so sick - and that combined with the surgery, we are hoping they have gotten on top of it. More tests tomorrow to see if there is more they need to do but if all is okay then he may be able to go home later in the week. The results of the surgery will take him longer to be able to live with. He will need to adjust what he can and cannot do, including walking.

I am tired - have not been sleeping well but with the better news today hoping I can tonight.

Must have been a very traumatic and frightening time for you.

I bet you are lacking sleep and have been unable to sleep. Hopefully you got a good rest in last night and your back is holding up.

@Snowie @Former-Member Dad has had more tests today and he is very tired. I did not go in to see him as he needed to rest after a long day of tests and being moved around. I will most likely go in tomorrow but he is going to call me first to update me on how he is and what more they need to do.

@Former-Member It has been stressful for everyone but for my sister and Mum more so. They have had to do all the jobs my Dad usually does and my Mum especially has been worried as it has triggered her own fears of when she was in hospital. She nearly died - luckily she was already in emergency when she crashed so they got to her in time. Of course I have been concerned too but I try to keep calm and positive for everyone else ...no point thinking the worst until it happens and in the meantime, we do what needs to be done.

Good on you @Zoe7 so stoic when your family need you. I admire you.

Thanks for letting me know how it's all going. It sounds like you are certainly putting on a brave face and are a backbone for your family.

Your poor Mum having been so sick herself. Yes a lot of people have a low tolerance for hospitals and find them quite triggering.

I hope your Dad is able to rest up and the tests provide positive results and you get to see him tomorrow.

Please take care of yourself it's hard work caring for so many people - please don't forget about yourself and your needs x
