Hi @Faith-and-Hope I am glad I gave you a smile the other night. I had another one of those lovely days today with the kids ...my little anxious girl wanted me to stand beside her to speak today. I encouraged her to do it on her own, followed by every single one of my kids supporting her with encouragement and belief in her. I think the noise also made her a little anxious but it was a nice noise because of the intent behind it. She did not do it on her own today but she is growing in confidence every day and today was just a stop and start again next week day.
I have had some news this week that I did not expect - it is positive in a way but also sad. My pdoc can no longer see me every few months as we planned as she has taken up another position and dropped her days at the clinic. The positive is she does not believe I need her (or a pdoc) right now as I have come so far. It is a 'graduation' in a way from the care I once needed and is a positive in my recovery. I am of course sad also that such a wonderful support to me over the last 5 or so years will end ...but as she said - it is always the aim that we can get to the point that we no longer need that support and she believes I am at that point now. I still have my GP and new psych (who I have clicked with instantly) and she believes that both of those supports will be enough. She is happy to be contacted by either of them if things go sideways in the future but she also does not believe that is likely with how far I have come and how much work I have done to get to this point. It is however going to be an adjustment for me but I am already putting things in place to help with that ...including seeing my GP more regularly again for a while whilst I get used to not having my pdoc around.
I was going to post a new thread here about all this but to be honest I don't think anyone would care - so I am sharing this with you because I know you do and have been right alongside me the whole way over so many years. You have been that wind beneath my wings, my saviour, my sounding board, my sister, my friend and I love you more than words can say. Leaving you with some (quiet) birthday week wishes and a whole lot of love and hugs. 💗🌹😘
