A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

You don't have to be sorry @Shaz51 I understand how hard this can be. My eldest granddaughter just moved back into my home with a cat she is fostering!! I already have her bird and her father here (with his broken leg) so I'm just wanting to run away right now.

Now that's my vent...sorry.

Re: Far and Away

I bet Nelly misses you Hon but it seems she is happy enough with D3 for now 😺💖

My little ratbag was sniffing at Cat's doghouse (Cat used to sleep in there a lot). I told her it was Cat's and she wasn't allowed in so she jumped on top and sat there like a statue ...but she didn't go in She is one cheeky little putty tat

Tobes supervised me all day - so he is back to normal. I had to move him a couple of times as he was getting too close to where I was cutting the sleepers. Good news - it rained last night and early this morning then cleared for most of the day so I have now finished all the footings. I have two small supports to cut and nail in then I can lay the decking again. I quickly mowed both the front and back yards (didn't take long as it was still fairly short), cleaned up the backyard, pulled out a few weeds and swept out the garage. ...been a big day!

I had a really bad night last night - flashbacks I have not had for some time. Not sure what brought it on but I had to get up, calm down and sat for a while hugging Tobes (that helped). I did finally manage to get to sleep for a couple of hours so hoping tonight is better. I am very sore also so need sleep to recover.

How has your day been? Did D2 have an reaction to the vaccination?

Hi @Snowie @Eve7 @Adge @Shaz51 and all passing by 👋

Re: Far and Away

Good morning @Snowie Very slow to get moving this morning - both sore/achy and tired so might be a while before I can get back into it today ...but that is okay - need some rest after a couple of bad nights.I could probably sleep all day but need to stay awake in the hope sleep will be better tonight ...and only having a few days left of holidays it is important to get back into a better sleep routine for work otherwise I will not cope next week.

How are you going today Hon?

@Faith-and-Hope I suspect you are snowed under with everything at present so sending you a whole bunch of love and strength to get through everything.

Hugs to everyone else passing through

Re: Far and Away

Sorry to hear of your bad nights hon @Zoe7 I hope tonight is better for you. Gee holidays seem to go fast don't they. I hope they have been beneficial for you. Least there is only one term left till xmas holidays. Seems like it is the busiest term though.

Been up for awhile now but just watching tv and lying with the dog. Need to get dressed soon and head up the street. Didn't sleep well last night so will maybe have a nap this afternoon.

Re: Far and Away

Have been having flashbacks for some reason @Snowie I think I was axious about sleeping last night because of the really bad night the night before ...it is the snowball effect - the more you worry, the more things happen

Yes the holidays have flown by but I have done quite a bit so happy with that. I do need to get stuck into some school work today but whilst it is clear outside I will head back out to begin the decking boards later today. If I can get them all measured and cut then I can put in a few at a time next week after work each day. Now it is daylight savings also I can do bits and pieces of the garden after work also. It will be a good mental break for me after work 👍

You have been going through so much Hon so if you need a nap then so be it. Maybe get a treat for yourself whilst you are out later - I bought a packet of snakes yesterday (they were on special) and have already eaten them all I don't have sweet things often but I did enjoy the treat.

Re: Far and Away

Hiya @Zoe7 @Snowie @Eve7 @Adge @Shaz51 .... and anyone else around.

I hope you can find something sweet for yourself while you are out and about @Snowie ..... maybe a new soap, magazine, ingredient for the pantry or gadget you have wanted to buy, if a sweet food treat doesn't appeal so much ...... something for you ❄️💞💐

I am sorry to hear about the flashbacks and bad night @Zoe7. Good to hear that the decking is progressing though. I am so impressed that you are competent with power tools. It's on my to-do list to learn, but at the moment it's not something I can take on. I hope you manage some rest in the day. :hammer_and_wrench:🪚🔩⚙️💪💕

Wow @Eve7, that's a tricky houseful ! I hope you have a self-care do-not-disturb corner for yourself somewhere there in the midst of it all 🪴🌷☕️

Hugs @Shaz51 ...... keep swimming Hon 🐠

@Adge 👋💕🐦

@Faith-and-Hope @Zoe7

Been down the street, brought myself a nice coffee. Tried to nap but brain wouldn't switch off.

Hope both of your days are going ok for you 💗💗💗

Re: Far and Away

@Faith-and-Hope It is a nice day - no rain, a little wind (but I am coping with that 👍) and the sun is partly out ....so back to the deck I have gone. I have nearly finished laying all the big pieces - a few more cuts to go and that will be done. Then to cut the two supports - paint them, screw them in and fill around with concrete - that will give them even more support as I have two large pot plants that go in those areas that are quite heavy.

I know you have talked about learning to use tools before and I would suggest (when you are ready) to get a multi tool - it can cut small things easily and has other attachments (sander, grout remover etc.) I have one like this and use it all the time...

I have decided to keep going with the deck for as long as I can today and do some school work tonight. Then tomorrow I can visit my sister and parents and have Sunday to get prepared for the first week back. I cannot believe how quickly the holidays have flown by but I have achieved a lot and that makes me feel good (tired, sore but mentally it has helped a lot ...and I needed that because I was drowning).

How has your day been so far? Are you getting on top of your work?

@Snowie Loved hearing you treated yourself to a nice coffee. It may not seem much but giving ourselves that little break and doing something nice for ourselves can give us a lift.

Re: Far and Away

Well done @Zoe7 for another busy day and getting so much done. I hope your two 'helpers' did some good supervising!!

Back home now on the couch with Izzy trying to have a rest and get out of my head.
