@Sans911 Hey Hon - how has your day been?

Re: Far and Away

Hiya @Zoe7 - long, busy day but not too bad. I had a work meeting with a new client. She's got very complex mental health and physical health issues but I'm actually quite excited at the prospect of helping her to get her health and life back on track. Lots of coffee, but nothing better in a rainy day.

Fur babies are both in bed (err make that they were) but I just had to separate them as Clio is asserting her dominance over Mr A.

One of my lovely neighbours has moved out today. I didn't have a lot to do with her, but she was very nice, and had a beautiful garden. She's giving me some plants to take which is great. I just hope the next person takes care of all her hard work.

Re: Far and Away

That is sad about your neighbour @Sans911 Maybe you could acquaint yourself with the new neighbour and use helping in the garden to begin with as an ice breaker - that way you could help keep it up to it's present standard and subconsciously impart that desire onto your new neighbour

Little Clio sounds like she is full of beans and very dominant - poor Mr A must be wondering what whirlwind has entered your home ...but they will find their place. Cat would not have a bar of Clover for the first month or so but towards the end they could sit together at the door. Clover was the same with Cat as Toby when she came to us - just wanted to be friends and play - thankfully Toby accommodated from the beginning ....it has been really good for him to have a play mate - he always wanted to play with Cat but she was her own little individual and tolerated Tobes (typical big sister lol).

I think what you are doing for this new client is wonderful - you have so much to give Hon, so much knowledge, so much experience and so much empathy - they are lucky to have you helping out

Re: Far and Away

Yes, poor Mr A. She is literally a whirlwind at times. A grey and white fuzzy streak. She's escaped outside twice already, and thinks it's fabulous to play hide and seek to avoid capture! It's taken Mr A two weeks to come back to my bed. And then she pounces on him! I've sure got my work cut out for my for some time yet with Clio. But she's a fast learner, and very smart.

Thanks for your kind words @Zoe7. Lots and lots of doubts in my mind about my capabilities. I've already stressed about maybe not being ready to go back to work, but my boss is very gentle and kind. He has a lot of faith in me. I just wish the doubts would go away. 30odd years of working, and there's no let up :face_with_rolling_eyes: in the negative feedback loop.

Clio is back laying on my check. She's cranking up the purring. You just have to touch her, and she's like a V12! Yet her meow atm is but a squeak.

Re: Far and Away

Clover has the quietest little purr @Sans911 You have to be right next to her to hear it but I do hear it often ...not like Cat - she had the most gorgeous purr (I recorded it on her last night with us and so pleased I did - I must have known ) Mt A and Clio will find their places once they settle more with each other. Puttin Clio off the bed will show Mr A it is still his space and Clio is being 'allowed' to be there. It does take time (and a lot of patience) but putting those boundaries in for Clio now will help in the long run.

I was super lucky that Tobes accepted Clover on the bed from the beginning. For the first few weeks she slept next to Tobes but has now moved to the pillow (on my head lol). She is getting bigger too so way more fluffball on my head

Now let's talk about those doubts of yours Hon - I can fully understand having doubts but you are not only capable but smart, experienced and most importantly ...ready. The last few years have been so hard for you but you have not only come through but also gained valuable insight that will be such an asset to helping others. I have no doubt what so ever that you can do the job - and excel in it ...Team Zoe cheering you on all the way 🎉

Re: Far and Away

Aww.. Thanks Team Zoe! @Zoe7

There have been so many times in those last few years, and now, working again seemed to be completely out of my reach. The prospect of not working ever again seemed daunting and depressing. And every time I thought I was ready in the last year or so to go back to working again, there was setback after setback. Failed interviews, COVID changing the employment market, jobs I wanted but couldn't apply as they were full time.

I didn't even apply for this job. And I was never interviewed either. My employer said he wanted to offer me employment not long after he knew me. He didn't check references either. I just gave him my cv. Now I think about all that I've rarely had a job offer like this!

I remember too when you were incredibly unwell physically a few years back. I was so worried you might not survive. How you work full time astounds me. But I admire your tenacity and determination. You just get on with everything. It's still incredibly hard for you, but you persevere.

Im starting to fade my lovely butterfly🦋🦋🐛🐛

We've not had chats like this for a very long time. I enjoy them immensely. 💖💖💖Goodnight
