Far and Away

Hi @Former-Member .... 😊

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, how's your adventure going? Is there a particular thread your putting updates? Jetlag takes about a week to settle I'm told, and I'm sure there's son Celtic wisdom to get over your post viral fatigue How's WH coping with his obcessive routines while travelling? A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Hadn't thought to start a new thread ....

In transit again today and have to go again now .... found a brief moment with wifi .... will catch you later and answer the above.

Re: Far and Away

hello @Faith-and-Hope

Haven't said hello for a while and was looking for far and away then someone posted on here and it popped up.

I know that you are all back home and that your husband went back again? Is he back?

I read somewhere briefly that your son has vitamin d deficiency i think. i hope that is all sorted and he is on the road to recovery.

i see that you do your art. Have you written a travel book yet?

A patient I met in hospital gave me a travel journal for my trip. It will seem odd writing about my travels and not my emotions that I record in a journal. a welcome change.

i hope that you are spoilt by your family this break, that they spend time looking after you no matter how small or little the time is xxx

🤗💕 @oceangirl ..... I hope you are finding your feet ..... been thinking of you and I should have more time to chat this week.

@Former-Member ..... that is the Greek Easter Bread, cakes Tsureki ...,. it's Orthodox Christian actually, so you find it across the Baltic states and into Russia as well. It's like a brioche, and having been on a vegan fast for 50 days, it's pretty good to have a slice of that for breakfast, and milk in the coffee again .... ❣

@Former-Member ..., I am glad you have enjoyed seeing my bit of a travel diary here .... and hopefully it will inspire you with yours.

Yes hubby WH is back .... not really settled ... he wants to "sort out" S2's "laziness" and has been stumped a bit by this Vit D deficiency ..... it's a bit of a mess, with familial issues behind his attitude ..... but it will sort itself out along with the rest of the mess. Until we get a diagnosis over WH, it's still just band-aid solutions all round .... but that's what it is .....

Gotta go ...,, midnight tonight is our Easter .... still preparing the Resurrection Soup for breaking the fast.

❤️💕

Hi @Former-Member

@Faith-and-Hope

Thinking of you and wishing you well with your busy big family.

Wow they actually have Resurrection Soup. Gotta try some of that!

Re: Far and Away

Magiritsa is traditionally made with the parts of the lamb not used for spit-roasting. The soup gets its distinctive taste from scallions, fresh dill, and egg-and-lemon sauce. There are lots of different variations. With chicken and vegetarian variations.

Re: Far and Away

hello @Faith-and-Hope

Diagnosis? That is a hard one when the patient believes they are well.

I can imagine your son not liking his dad's input. Young males do not like to be told.

Resurrection soup I have not heard of either.

You do sound very busy. I do hope that you find a moment here and there just for you xx

Hi @Former-Member .... 😊💕

Yes ... awkward .... part of WH's eating disordered mind-set, or the OCD condition underlying it, is a strong need to control others and his environment, so attempting micro-management of S2 is part of the problem. He is over-riding doctor's advice with S2 to try to force him out of his unwell state, believing it to be laziness. S2 is holding his own to a large degree .... so glad he went to the dr before WH returned ....

Another melt-down at church last night, but by the time I got home separately, he had swung back the other way and was all chirpy ,... grrr and yay .... :face_with_rolling_eyes: .... it meant we could at least crack red eggs have the after-midnight supper that goes with our faith.

Today, a houseful of family for Easter lunch. Tomorrow on a plane for the Eastern States ... living in a bit of a cyclone, but we have to take some joy where we find it as we ride on his coat-tails .... for now.

Better get up, pack, and get the rest of the lunch organised ....

❤️💕

The 20-40 years it takes to raise a family us so many ups, downs and curved balls. Traditions can help us navigate the challenges.

@Faith-and-Hope I am slowly finding my feet... I have been thinking of you too. I went to the zoo today and I was quite busy there... I'm a bit worried tonight one of my friends from hospital is struggling atm. Hope to catch up with you later in the week. I have specialist appointment tomorrow in Brisbane.
