Merry Christmas all
Gee @utopia, that is a bit rough on your mum. I could imagine she was devastated, making her feel pretty insignificant I would imagine. I hope she had someone to go home to, I would be worried about her. And I can understand you not wanting to be in that atmosphere. I probably shouldn't say this because when young I have been guilty of this myself - but can't some of us be selfish little "*£¥s at times. I hope your sister sees one day that we only have one mum and she may not be around for next Christmas - who knows when our time is up?
I am feeling this a bit because my daughter treats me the same way. I made a tremendous effort to give her a good Christmas with cheer - a great life for that matter. But today she was totally self absorbed and sour - ruined it for all. Because she decided to get back in touch with an ex that she knows is abusive, so yes he hurt her again and we keep wearing the brunt of it. She says that's it now with him - ( until the next time :face_with_rolling_eyes:). She has to learn some day. I am so over it @utopia. She saids she wants to move out, study, work in the city and share a flat with others. I believe that would be better for her and us. The quicker the better. To be honest I would rather be alone than treated in such a manner.
My lead up to Christmas was good but now, the morning, not so - now just trying to capture a few peaceful moments to balance the pain of the Christmas buffet outing. Hubby is distant because of our daughter so feeling a bit down and alone. But must make the most of it, the quiet, the moment. What else can we do? That's the way it is sometimes.
How was Christmas with your children (you have one or two sons?). Hope your afternoon gets better as I am hoping mine does. Not all was lost, we had some good times and cheer on the lead up. I hope your mum is okay - I so feel for her. I can so relate 💕
