Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Oh I love leeks @eth and will have a look at that one! And lol with the 'stuffins'! I'm feeling kind of magic right now as I think I've created a whole new consistency for food. I'm calling it 'wet brick' 😆 They were supposed to be to take to my worky thing tomorrow but I'm not going to do that now. Kids and I can pick at them tonight for dessert because there are yummy enough. The house smells like Apple and cinnamon so I'm calling it a win for that alone.

That would be quite shocking re Darwin and I can see how that stirred stuff up for you.

I don't feel so bad about having looked for ex when I hear others may have or have in your case, done the same. It was instant regret for me. I really despised seeing him so happy and carefree 🙁

Annnyway probaby should head off and vacuum up the sugar that I managed to spill (spray actually thanks to using a bowl that was too small when I put the electric beater in it) everywhere!

Nice to catch up briefly. Hope your afternoon is one with good in it!

Just checking in.

After a change yesterday that relieved my hormonal distress, and talking to my therapist and brother overseas I feel a bit more in control but still scatty. Finding it hard to focus my brain but will hopefully get there. I have a physio appt soon and after not leaving the hous for a few days,

it will probably be a good thing.

Loved the cooking story @CheerBear . @eth I hope you are doing ok and things are starting to settle. I’ll come back a bit later for a look to see what is happening around the forum.

Re: Just checking in.

PS @CheerBear I understand the ex thing too. I know mine has posted lots of things that have hurt because it looks like a glamorous life but I know it’s not for him. I hope that with more time that anger and hurt dissipate. You have something he’ll never have and that is worth so much more than all those pics.

@Faith-and-Hope I know you are in crazy mode but I wanted to wish you all the best for your time away.

@Former-Member I hope you are doing ok today.

Re: Just checking in.

I'm on a quick stop break between my psych appointment and my new gig/adventure thing but wanted to say hi @Teej and all who might be around.

It is good to see you Teej and great to hear you're feeling a bit more in control today ❤ Hope it feels good to get out of the house today. Editing to add thanks for understanding re the ex stuff. They are living what seemed to be an extraordinary life. I have those babies and that's what matters most to me and always has (still sucked to see it all though).

I had a tricky night with more horrible dreams that had me tossing and turning and I think even waking yelling. It was good to check in with psych today who said he doesn't think it's the start of a downhill fall into the darkness (as I was a little worried about) but more a processing 'stuff' thing. It made me feel better to hear that it's OK to have stuff coming up in my sleep and to then tell me why he thinks it is OK.

I also had an out of the blue message last night from my nice smelling friend that I stopped being friends with a couple of months ago. He mentioned seeing our new car which rattled me a bit. I would really like to not hear from him like that and I don't like the idea of him driving past and looking in. I ignored it as I'm not sure what else to do seeing as I made it super clear I didn't want to communicate anymore 😏

That's about it from me.

I hope things feel a bit better for you today @eth after your tricky night last night ❤

Hugs to any/all and hope the day is going OK or better.

👋

Re: Just checking in.

@CheerBear I’ve had the same response from my psych about my dreams that feel real and distressful to me. Two nights ago I had a dream about one of my sons being in the navy (he is not but wanted to be in the army for a long time) and then a conflict broke out and his ship was the only Australian ship to go and it got blown up. The processing part.....I haven’t seen him for a while and feel guilty that I should be making more contact with him, which is true. This example is such a simple one but I’ve had a few crackers with all the legal stuff going on.

After the physio I went with dog to a different park. It is a beautiful winters day here. Cool but sunny 🌞. It was really peaceful.

Seriously, enough with the surprises for you for a while. That is a bit arrrgh and grrr from ex friend. I think ignoring it for now will be good. You may have to lay some boundaries again if he keeps it up.

I hope the work thing is really good today.

I have to try to focus now and do some button pressing without making myself go a bit crazy.

Hiya 👋🏻 @Sans911 . I see you there 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Teej and @CheerBear I had a rough night but managed to stick to my plans for today and am now feeling much better for it. Also going to the farm again sun/mon with bro for a quiet time this time (no working bee crowd like last time) so that will be a wonderful break from the building pressure and anxiety re preparing for the ndis review meeting next Thurs.

I hear you both about troublesome dreams and processing 'stuff'. I've had heaps of that sort of dreaming over the last several years. A few months ago my psychiatrist added a med to help with ptsd nightmares which reduces adrenalin response and it seems to be really working after taking a while to find the right dose for me. I still have the dreams but don't wake up in a panic any where near as often.

@CheerBear it's no wonder you feel a bit disturbed about your exfriend and his comment. Hopefully he will get the message again and leave you alone.

@Teej glad to hear you're feeling a bit more settled today.

Lots to catch up on, seems like things have been pretty busy around the forums from the number of tags I've been notified of. Look forward to catching up with you both when the time is right.

I’m glad bro is back @eth and that you’ll have time at the farm. I hope you have lovely weather too. Good job getting through everything today. I didn’t but I’m ok with what I did get done. Praying for some very mild cleaning and cooking superpowers for tomorrow 🙏🤞🏻

Looking for reminders to got to the farmers market in the morning @eth , @CheerBear and all. I’ve completely forgotten the last few times it’s been open.

Re: Just checking in.

Morning 👋

No bad dream (that I remember) last night! 🎉

I had, as usual, a really great time at my gig. On the way home I was thinking about what it has taken to get here and how much of a turning point this really could be for me. I'm still not at the 'doing' part of it all and have to get through a scary feeling assessment first, but I am super excited about what it is and what I've been working at. What I am putting myself up for involves lots of uncertainty, things that aren't in my control, tough conversations about what I did well and what I could have done better, and lots of learning about myself and others. It's pretty intense and there's heaps to it that I would usually run a mile from, but I feel like I've found a place where I can stretch myself in a really supported way and actually do some helpful things. I am absolutely loving it.

Today I am going to be spending my Saturday night in a retirement village, listening to grandparent's stories and tales of their treasures, and then documenting them (while there is still time) so we can keep them going down the lines. It's one of those things that I'm going to half drag myself to and half feel excited about. It's been a long time since I've stayed at my grandparent's house and a long time since we've spent hours at a time talking. They sounded really excited about it. I think it will be something I feel thankful for having done one day and would regret if I didn't do.

@eth your farm trip sounds like a nice stop break to help you get through this stressful week. I hope you're doing OK and managing to keep those building feelings to a manageable level.

@Teej don't forget to go to the farmer's market this morning (my reminder for you) 😁 There is ice all over the ground here and it is freezing. Stay warm ❤

Hope it's a day with good in it for all.
