Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Haha @Teej 🙂 I am smiling at your spider webs!

So happy to see you back in the role that made a big difference to a scared, lost bear when she joined the forum, and the role you did so well at that it shaped how I use the forum. I really mean that.

Night 😘

Re: Just checking in.

Hi Teej 🙂

Well I have been so lost assignments and study that I have just realised tonight that it is becoming quite dark and cold. Holidays are upon me. Tonight everything is tinged with a warm melancholy, I can't quite put my finger on it. Winter truely is a beautiful season.

Hope everyone has a good sleep

Hey @CheerBear It's natural for you to be feeling sad and stirred up about this time. It was such a difficult decision to make and so hurtful to you but I'm sure you made the right decision for you and your family. And you're such a wonderful Mum to your little, middle and big, so devoted. Will be standing by to offer the hugs as and when you need them. All you can really do is be gentle with yourself and wait for this milestone to pass. Maybe write a poem? Light a candle? Plant a tree or some flowers? Some sort of little ritual to mark this occasion? That might become a tradition over time as you learn to balance with your feelings about it. Hoping your ap't is really helpful tomorrow.

@Teej I really hope you get the relief you need from the op. I know someone who had the same procedure and they were really happy with the results. So much less pain. And having been a massage therapist for 28 years I have some understanding of the type of pain it can be. Good for you for being brave enough to do it. Hoping you have sweet dreams and peaceful sleep tonight.

As I feared when seeing boofhead triggered such a rush of feelings yesterday afternoon, and then when my fear was confirmed that he wasn't just on a day release, I have woken feeling somewhat accelerated - it's amazing how suddenly one can be triggered into a bipolar swing. At least these days I can recognize it and manage it better, but it has me p'd off on top of all the other feels. And right now I'm just letting myself feel them all. I won't rant about him again just now. Also p'd that he can steal so much of my energy just by walking through the garden I look after.

Hi @Former-Member we haven't met before - welcome if you're new. You're right, it's freezing tonight - the coldest night we've had yet this year for sure. By the way if you want to tag someone like @Teej just now, type an @ symbol and start typing their name and you'll get a drop down box where you can select their name.

Hugs to you @eth for your difficult night. I thought it was unusual to see a post from you at the time you replied. I hope you had some restful sleep in the end.

Morning to all and hope there's good in the day! Off to counselling for me, hoping that it helps. Then maybe some more Pokemon hunting/playing to chill afterwards 😁👍

❤

Re: Just checking in.

Hey and good morning to you @CheerBear I just posted on ALR thread at the same time you posted here. Hope today is a better day for you and that your counselling session is productive and helps you reconcile some of what's been coming up for you. It's always good to have some down time after a session imho. Especially when you have to be 'on' for others as much as you do. Take care xx

Oh it looks like notifications are broken again (for me anyway). I didn't get the support notifications or the tags.

Thanks @Sans911 ❤ Hope things are OK enough for you. And thanks also @eth. I'll swing by a long rave later. Down time is good 🙂

Re: Just checking in.

Morning @Sans911 , @outlander , @eth , @CheerBear , @Former-Member 👋😊

Sorry I dropped out last night @Former-Member , chaos happened after I had taken night meds and then accidentally tipped a big mug of hot chocolate all over my bed and floor. I wasn’t feeling much up to responding at the time and my sleeping meds took effect. It has felt strange that holidays are not far away. I have two sons at uni still.

I happen to like winter much more than summer but it is so much harder to get up in the mornings. I have loved being able to go to the park and see green. I love that my dog can run anywhere without fear of running into snakes.

I hope that the melancholy passes, maybe it will leave as it came. How are you today?

@CheerBear I woke thinking of you this morning which I can tell you is a much better way than I have been. I really missed reading your post properly last night. I can understand that date thing and how it would throw you. I hope your appointment helped with that. Sitting here as always with support through this with everyone else. Arms are at the go position for creating webs ???. Thank you for your kind comment last night. It doesn’t feel like I have my fojo ? back yet.

@eth Thank you. Yesterday I found out that even if I lose the weight in 3 months it could be up to 12 months before the operation is done. I’m ok though, I’ve lived with it for decades, one year more I can get through. I’m so sorry that everything has been elevated. I hope it is a temporary thing. I’m so glad you are surrounded by very compassionate and caring people. I know one doesn’t fit that mould currently but the others do. Hopefully in time that might change for him too. In the meantime look after you. You are really good at understanding you and the things that trip you up. Can you up support workers this week? Again I would be very triggered by having him around and I understand it completely. I think it’s extra hard when we finally feel things are ok and then one thing changes that instantly. Thinking of you.

im heading off for now. I think I need to maybe set some time limits again on my forum use because I’m slipping into old habits again that are not so helpful for me. Will be back on later.
