Hi @Teej I was more than happy for you to include me in your post - we learn from each other and if a little of what I have dealt with helps then more thanhappy for others that may be able to relate to that to use it as an example.
I have seen such great growth in you too Hon and it has been wonderful to watch. You have that same inner strength that has helped you get through some of those extremely difficult times - and I have seen that build up even more so over the past couple of months. It does help having supports around us that we know we can rely on and it is lovely that your psych is being that for you. It sounds like you have a pretty good relationship with her and she is helping you through a lot - that is all we can ask of our supports.
Relationships with family can be really tricky and it seems both of us have become more confident at standing our ground and speaking up for ourselves in regards to our mothers. I do feel my relationship has changed over the last couple of years. I am still very guarded and keep her at a certain distance but will now stand up for myself when I don't agree with her - that is a big step forward for me. I am also conscious that she is getting older and there will be likely more times she will need help with things that her or Dad cannot do. Right now there is still things I cannot do either and have to tell her that sometimes I am not well enough but I am getting better at that too. I need to look after myself as well.
Today was a really good day at work so no SI tonight - first time all week - so a win for today that I am happy to take. Hoping that also equates to an early night and sleeping throughout the night.
How has your day been?
@CheerBear Also thinking of you Hon and very much missing seeing you around. Much love and hugs for both you and Teej
