Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Thank you @Kurra - that's just the reminder I needed to set my expectations right for the day. I'm going to have what you're having! Let's compare notes at the end of the day.

Hi @Kurra ....

About to hit the sack over here, but thought I would check in on you to see if you're online ....

As chipper as you are making it, I know this day is pulling at your heart-strings ....blowing you cyber-kisses to encourage you to upkeep that smile in place and enjoy every minute you can ...

Hugs .... ❤️💕

Re: Just checking in.

You know I'm not sure I get it. I agree with @Faith-and-Hope that it will be pulling at your heartstrings but I'm not sure I understand why they can't see how you feel within reason. I get so confused over this stuff now. You know this is coming from a place of ignorance for me so please bear with me. I can see it from a DBT perspective of do the opposite of how you feel. So my question @Kurra is why are you doing the opposite of how you feel. @Former-Member I'd be happy for your enlightenment with this too.

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @Former-Member. I'm good this morning.
Felt rotten yesterday. Ended up having a panic attack and talking to nurse on call. Ends up I'd forgotten to take my medications on Monday night. Oops. Feel great now. Just tired.
I'm heading shopping with my mum in fifteen minutes.
I hope you are well. What are your plans for the day?

Re: Just checking in.

I have lots on @utopia, last mindfulness class followed by a lunch with people from my classes and I have to try and enrol my son in a new school and if I can pull myself together get to the farmers market first . I'm so glad to hear it was a med glitch that threw you off and nothing else.

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @Former-Member, hugz to you.
"Why do those who love us manipulate to their own stuff?" Its aweful feeling controlled. I might be wrong (not knowing the detAils) but I've come to learn that how people treat others is a direct reflection of how they treat or feel about themself. But its often subconscious. Maybe they control others because they lack it or want in them self. Relationships require much self awareness to leave out the baggage, too much compromise & negotiating tries my patience. I take my hat off to anyone, all of you guys in relationships of commitment.

With love ones, guess its not so much about "expressing how I feel" but HOW we express it? (the energy behind it) but also how the other person receives it. Sometimes we have to express our feelings elsewhere and negotiate later.

You said "i'm scared" (its good that your in touch with the anxiety), but then can reason & stand up" (but try not to deny it or push it down, try to work through it emotionally as well as intellectually, or if youre like me, it just builds up and come back).
You do sound really tired too, and so vulnerable at the moment. Remember to take little recharge moments for yourself, throw in a 'centering exercise' (deep breath mindfulness helps me) do you have a 'me' chair / space.

Gotta go, hugz xox
