Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Once you mentioned the topic @Sans911 I figured it has been really hard for you but you are doing really well to work through it also - especially with it bringing up so much for you. It may even be cathartic to eventually get it done - one more goal kicked and under difficult circumstances ...and that is a positive step forward for you.

Re: Just checking in.

I don't think it will cathartic @Zoe7. There's far too much damage done to me by the healthcare system. What will bring some closure is when I complain about the two staff who damaged me the most. And also working/volunteering in suicide prevention is helping when I eventually encourage others to be more understanding, show empathy and respect. It is a long road to go through, as you well know.

Re: Just checking in.

Yes it is a ling road @Sans911 and one that we will always be on. We can get to the stage where it is less prominent in our thinking but the undertones are always there. It is about working out how we best deal with it all and still move forward in a meaningful way. Everything that you are doing is working towards that. That does not mean there will not be bumps (and sometimes sink holes) on that road but we do dust ourselves off the best we can and continue along that journey. You are a great example to the rest of us of exactly that Hon - as tough as it gets for you sometimes you continue to do your volunteering work, your study and even you wonderful support of people here - and that is all something to celebrate

Re: Just checking in.

I have a feeling I owe @CheerBear one of these....an I’m sorry. I’ve been thinking about my last post to you and I know missed validating some pretty huge feelings around what you are experiencing and they need to be validated.

I hope you feel less blue soon.

@Sans911 i know you don’t feel it at the moment but I wanted to ditto what @Zoe7 said. Like you I’ve messed up pretty big with some stuff and been totally humiliated by mh professionals in the past. I can understand that digging up this stuff through study would sometimes cut deep. Take care of you. It’s hard and messy, maybe when you can’t feel any of the good re read @Zoe7 last line, you may not feel it but it is something to be proud of.

Re: Just checking in.

I think I’m going to have a little break from the forum. I’m not sure how long I’ll last. I’ve fallen down a hole and need to work out how to climb back up by myself. I’ll be ok though. I have my psych appointment tomorrow that I hope helps too.

Hugs to all 💜🤗
