Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

🙁 that sounds like a really full on afternoon @Teej. Huge hugs for all of that ❤

Re: Just checking in.

It kind of was @CheerBear but I can laugh about it now. I think I was more taken back by my GP ringing but I understand why she did. It was more at a practical level in that I don’t just extend the process out.

I talked to my friend tonight and there was lots of laughter and sick jokes about it already which helped. I commented that I’m so much better with things involving physical pain and blooming hopeless at emotional stuff which is mostly true. I’m not worried about surgery although I’m sure I’ll complain at some point about it. 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

I am glad you had some laughing with your friend @Teej - that's always a good thing. I was going to write in my reply above about how I now won't feel so bad about my bits declaring war after hearing yours seem to have taken that to the next level. I googled and it is definitely next level 😮😖!

Do you think this might be behind some of the yucks you experience? Wondering whether having it found and treated might help with that too?

More hugs even though you seem to be taking it well ❤

Re: Just checking in.

I’m kind of glad you googled it @CheerBear ....and not 😳😜. I’m thinking it probably has played part in my recent history. My GP said it was about 7cm. It’s possible it’s been having a fight with my ovary and winning which I’d imagine has to mess with hormone. I’m just guessing this as of now. I do hope that getting it fixed might help out. Lol with bits declaring war. Does this count as biological warfare 🤔?

On a personal level I grow hair exceptionally well so I’m guessing internally too. I kind of hope it’s that and not other stuff. My friend appreciated that. I’ve have been the butt of many jokes regarding my hair in the past. She gave me a heads up I’m in for some serious stirring at Easter. I’d prefer that to anything though I think. I’d kind of suck with sympathy.

Re: Just checking in.

@outlander . I know you read my post and I’m a bit worried that it will cause you more anxiety. Most of my anxiety was because I was unprepared for it. It was uncomfortable but no more so than lots of other medical things. I think it’s just we are hyper aware of where on our bodies it is. For me I just wanted it over from an emotional point. After I left I wasn’t affected at all and I guess I’m glad I had it to understand what is going on. He told me it was just like inserting a tampon. I’m not sure how others have felt having one but it was a little like that but not. Getting to the nitty gritty it was more like not getting a tampon in the right spot and the discomfort that comes from that. I hope this helps. I don’t want to make it worse for you.

Re: Just checking in.

That totally counts @Teej!

I love Googling gross stuff 😛😆 It's a bit shudderish to imagine though and way better for something like that to be out rather than in I think!

Without having much idea about much, I'd be surprised if something like that wasn't messing with your hormones. Hopefully having it found and then removed will help.

So good you have some stirring coming your way. I'm with you with that one being helpful 🙂

Also - big well done on getting yourself to and then through that one today. So glad for you that you did.

Re: Just checking in.

thanks @Teej but im ok, you havent made anything worse. the tests and results while i do worry but that is the uncertainty of it, what worries me more is having to talk to my mother if it gets to that point. But thank you for your concern

Re: Just checking in.

@outlander I’m glad I haven’t scared you off the tests. I think if it comes to telling your mum you can choose how to tell her but she can only choose how she reacts. Sometimes that reaction is not ideal. I won’t tell mine until I have to but that is because I know she would be so stressed and her reactions, although well meaning, might have a different effect on me. Sometimes we can only work with that. If I do need an operation I’ll tell her a week or so out because I suspect I’ll need her help for some things. It’s taken me a long time to learn that her reactions are her reactions, they have nothing to do with me. I leave them with her mostly these days. I hope you’ll find a way to do that too.
