Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

PS my sense of humour is a little awry at the moment. 😳😏

Re: Just checking in.

That's so not cool with psych @Teej. I think I'd be feeling pretty let down at that one. I really hope they can talk soon (before your c-link thing). Also crappy with not being able to speak with therapist today too 😔

I think you're right with all of the above and I'm thinking hormones are probably playing a part in my flat. This really went up a level when I did the contraceptive thing a month ago (maybe coincidence but maybe not). I don't do well with them and they seem to knock me around a bit but my GP wants me to try and ride it out for 6 months before deciding I can't take it. I can't do six months of this but I should probably try a bit longer. Annoying though!

Do you have anything on over the weekend?

Re: Just checking in.

Just quietly hormones suck @CheerBear 😏. They mess with us so much.

I have a quiet weekend (there’s not many that aren’t quiet). Possibly market tomorrow and catch up with new friend for coffee or something Sunday.

Through all your stuff have you gone through the stage of completely not knowing who you are. Today I wanted to write a post 'how to create a human'. I feel so broken and know I have to start creating someone new. It all feels so overwhelming.

Re: Just checking in.

I think my ovaries hate me @Teej 😏

Markets and friend catch up sound really good if you can ❤

I think there has definitely been times where I've felt so lost and so confused and so broken that I couldn't see or recognise myself. I've really struggled to create my new life which is where I am still stuck trying.

My heart felt sad reading that you were thinking of how to create a human. You feel, you hurt, you're scared, overwhelmed... they're all pretty human things to be.

It's a very unsettling place to be sitting, feeling like lots needs to be started or done but not knowing where or how to do that. Maybe right now isn't the place to be trying though. I think finding more security and stability, like you're trying to do with c-link, is going to help a lot. I know for me at least, there was no way I could rebuild on such shaky ground as it was before I did the c-link thing. Maybe right now it is really a time for riding it out and not trying to fix things just yet?

Re: Just checking in.

I think your ovaries possibly love you a little too much and are very protective @CheerBear. Every time you try to interfere with them and your reproductive system it’s spits back hormones at you to back off. Well I think mine are like that. I think I could still fall pregnant now. Mine feel like their screaming 'we’re not finished yet' and throw a let’s ovulate party 🥳😳

i feel like ive been screaming for so long how I don’t trust myself and I don’t know who I am. I know all my values have become scrambled. I think this bus has thrown all of it back in my face in a very unhelpful way. Tonight when I was crossing the road I was scared I’d call 'ok' to my dog and send him into the traffic. He walks off lead and walks at my heels until I say ok, then he bolts. I go through this so many times when I take him, not just tonight. It’s like I don’t feel like I control my brain enough to keep him safe. That’s just an example of one part.

Anyway maybe you are right and it would help just to get through next week first. Perhaps I’m the one who needs to be on the lead so I don’t bolt. 🤦‍♀️.

Re: Just checking in.

I had a giggle at your take on ovaries and the let's ovulate party @Teej. Here I was thinking that mine put war paint on, held swords and declared war on the rest of my body when maybe they're actually just partying at their awesomeness and have been all along 😆

I think lots of years of going through these kinds of hard times as you have would have many people struggling to trust themselves. I also think that lots of years of helping people putting words and 'wrong with you' stuff out there can do damage too. Then big life bangs and life in general - it's a jumble. The constant get up, get bused, get up, get bused is exhausting, overwhelming and pretty miserable at times. Everything you're going through with this one makes sense.

I don't know if you need to be on a lead being that you're a human kind of person and all 😉 but maybe plonked down somewhere safe feeling with a giant umbrella to shelter under while the storm passes and a bunch of people who care about you and believe in you, by your side 🧡

It's OK to question what you are but maybe not getting too caught up in it if you can help it, at least until after next week.

Re: Just checking in.

I think there might be some things in what you wrote about becoming way more broken through the system @CheerBear. it’s something I might put to my psychiatrist, about time to grow a person rather than just thinking one is grown because of years of life and ones children. It seems having had successful children assumes I have my act together. Their success seems to be so linked to me and it is not helpful just now. thanks again for the chat and support. It has been greatly appreciated and has helped put me back together for the moment. Onwards and upwards she says in a really shaky voice 😜😘💜🤗

That all makes lots of sense too @Teej.

Always enjoy catching up with you 😊

Re: Just checking in.

Just checking in. Weekend has had some wobbles but was ok. One of my sons wanted help sorting something out as he has injured himself 🤦‍♀️. I offered to look after him but he would rather his girlfriend do it. Why have your mum wait on you when you can have your gf do it :face_with_rolling_eyes: (I very much get it though). This one can’t take a trick at the moment. I think his brother has taken all his luck for a bit.

My brain has finally settled.....only to be ready to get fried this week 😱.

@CheerBear When I said I need to create a human I guess I meant create a person with a personality and confidence in what they can do as opposed to one that can’t do that because shes so broken. I so much want my therapist and psychiatrist to help me build a person now, I can’t get anymore broken (well I don’t think I can 🤔), I’m more stable but I just need to work on finding a me that can exist in the big wide world out there.

Hugs for anyone reading this. 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

Hey @Teej 🙂

Sorry about the wobbles 😏 Hope sons injury is better soon.

Totally get why feeling confident and not so broken is something you want. Do you have things in life you love doing or things that bring you those good/great feels? I wonder if there's a way of getting in touch with them more.

I spent a good chunk of the weekend with a full on dog and a teeny baby dog and have now returned to be with our full on baby cat. Both full on dog and full on baby cat have given me moments thinking how sometimes your face might look a bit like this :face_with_rolling_eyes: or 😖 with your dog!

Is your big day this week at the start, middle or end of the week (if you can and would like to share)?
