Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @CheerBear Have taken meds so hoping sleep comes this afternoon - at least for a little while. Not in the mood now to do anything. It is just a sucky situation that didn't need to happen. If I don't hear anything today then I will have to ring tomorrow - this is getting ridiculous - it should have been sorted out by now.

Re: Just checking in.

Yes it definitely should have been sorted by now @Zoe7 🙁 I really hope some sleep helps this afternoon.

Gotta run and do the school thing now. Sending lots of ❤ and thoughts.

Re: Just checking in.

Hugs @Zoe7. You've been doing so fantastic, especially with all the delays and uncertainty. You definitely didn't need that phone call from your father like that. Take it easy on yourself too hun.

@CheerBear- you're such an awesome Mama. All I feel from your posts is radiant love and concern for your LF & Big. Those kids of yours are incredibly lucky to have such a beautiful person like you as their Mama. Rest up while they're at school, cause I gather it's going to get noisy again soon today with lots of excited first day chatter.

Re: Just checking in.

Thank you so much @CheerBear @Sans911 I am going to head out of forumland myself for a while and try to sleep. It is perfect weather here to snuggle in the doona woth a furball and try to forget about today.

@Sans911 I will try to catch up with you later Hon - need to let meds work and get that rest at least right now - very deflated and still feel like crying so probably best I let myself rest now.

Thinking of you and sending warm wishes @Zoe7 . Hopefully you're having some sweet respite from it all right about now.

Thanks @Teej Hope your appointment today was helpful and supportive.

Re: Just checking in.

Had lots of grr feelings reading your post from before @Zoe7 . I know it’s not much consolation but I also have parents that mean well but miss the mark too. I’m going to go more with the hope feelings from the post on the other thread.

My brain completely fried from my appointment @CheerBear, @eth but in a good way. I came home and crashed in a deep exhaustive sleep, woke up not knowing where I was or what day it was :face_with_rolling_eyes:. Yes therapist was supportive. It looks like she and psychiatrist will hopefully talk tomorrow. Therapist and I had coffee and talked for 90 min (we got off track lots). It felt ok and a bit like the old me and her relationship in a way that felt familiar and ok and hopeful. I now just have to hope that it works out so I can start my life again from a starting point I can cope I so much want my psych and therapist to be on the same page. It feels like this is the most successful support I’ve had and I know it would be great if they could communicate.

Sending @Sans911 some of these too 💜🤗. It’s nice to see you 😘

Re: Just checking in.

My mum told me my father was laying down when she got home so that is a prety clear indication that he was kicking himself for his behaviour @Teej @CheerBear @Sans911

That is what he does - he gets angry or annoyed, takes it out on us and then regrets his behaviour but apologies are often few and far between.

I am trying to put that behind me now @Teej and concentrate on the hopefully positive news to come tomorrow.

It is great that you had a productive meeting with your therapist. 90 minutes is a long appointment but it sounds like you covered some of the hard stuff as well as some off track stuff - that is great to hear. It is even better to hear that you felt more hopeful with the session

Re: Just checking in.

I’m so glad you found a way of moving on @Zoe7 and it’s at least a little comfort to know that he knew he’d messed it up. I know it didn’t help that he created the very big feelings you’d been working so hard at managing though :face_with_rolling_eyes:😬. Onwards and upwards.

@CheerBear Would love a fish update when your house is calm. 😊

Re: Just checking in.

The Big feelings were quite substantial this afternoon @Teej but with a little help I am working through them. It certainly helped having that more positive news.

@CheerBear Would love a LF update here too when you are able to - especially how Big got on at their new school on their first day.

Re: Just checking in.

So great to hear it went well today @Teej even if it it was a brain fry one. Hoping lots that therapist and psych can (finally) get on the same page. I'm thinking that would be pretty important and helpful with things like c-link but also in general. You mentioned the other day (yesterday maybe?) that psych was writing a report for c-link. Will therapist (or you more importantly!) find out what is in it?

@Zoe7 really glad HR were helpful today and that things feel a bit more promising again. It would be nice to get an apology from your dad though it sounds like that's going to be a stretch. Really felt for you this afternoon 🙁 Looking forward to news tomorrow 🤞

@Sans911 thank you lots for your very lovely message and kind words earlier. It made my heart feel really good 😊

We've had an as expected bananas afternoon and are heading out to get some easy, quick dinner in a moment but I'll be back later with fish news Teej and Zoe (thank you for caring!) 🙂👋❤
