Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

@Teej not many words feel right to reply but I wanted to say I that I hear you and am here with you too. I'm really hoping for you that next week is not going to be as hard as you think it will be either.

And ugh to c-link 😔 That one seriously sucks.

Re: Just checking in.

Things sound super hard for you at the moment @Teej. Sometimes we need to vent and get things off our chest - that doesn't make one self-absorbed. It's amazing to hear you are able to recognise the good things in your life even when you are in this head space. Please keep reaching out for support and let us know if we can do anything to help

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Shaz51, @Jupiter, @CheerBear, @Zoe7, @outlander, @Faith-and-Hope,

i guess it helped to get it out of my head. I took the dog for a walk before and it was good for me to get outside as well.

Thanks @Zoe7 for the validation before. It’s hard to feel worthy of even being here at times.

@Shaz51. I cant believed you were knocked back from Centrelink for either of those things. 😡.

@CheerBear How did a big go today? (Maybe some distraction will help).

Re: Just checking in.

Good to hear you went for a walk and got outside @Teej 🙂

Big was a big mash of feelings today but it was a nice day. They had an assembly and said farewell to them all. Big and another got to hand over to the next school captains which was also pretty cool. I had lots of teachers coming with hugs and teary faces. I think they're going to be very missed. I felt feely but mostly a huge sense of relief and having made it to the end of the year! Thank you for asking.

Do you have plans for this weekend?

Re: Just checking in.

That’s really lovely about big today. There must have been many proud mum moments @CheerBear 💜.

tomorrow I have to go to the optometrist in the morning. Hopefully be there in time. My big is taking his gf to the airport to go home to her fam for Christmas. I have to market shop and get my head around the last of the presents 🤯. I am then hoping to not leave the house until Monday when I go to help my parents set up. I have lots of anxiety for Xmas day. I’m not sure I can carry it off this year but I guess I won’t know until I get through it.

Have you got much on? I’d imagine your crew will be happy to Veg a bit after the end of year school madness.

Re: Just checking in.

So many proud mum moments and so many wonderful teachers there making sure I felt it too, which was very cool @Teej 😊

Do you wear glasses (cause that doesn't fit with the imaginary Teej I have in my head 😉) or is a check to see kind of appointment? Will any of your crew go shopping with you?

I wish those big feelings of all kinds including anxiety weren't so big at this time of the year. Big hugs. It's a ... time of the year sometimes. Do you stay with your parents overnight? (Sorry for the million questions!).

We're heading away so we have a bit to do and on. I have managed to score a kid free night which I am so excited about. I have some present stuff to do that can't have little eyes around so I'll spend the day doing that and tidying up, and then the evening with friend. I am really looking forward to that one as we've only spent a couple of nights together so far, despite him being here often. He doesn't sleep here when the kids are around (which is pretty much always). Then I'll join the crew and our people for a little while.

Re: Just checking in.

I sometimes wear glasses @CheerBear.....well pretty much always when I drive or leave the house. I don’t wear them at home much.

No im just helping them out on Monday, hoping to avoid any Xmas stress for them but it won’t :face_with_rolling_eyes:. They are only a couple of years off 80 and although very strong and independent still, they struggle a bit with things like this but they wanted to do it at their house so we will try to help out a fair bit.

No my crew are all off doing their own thing. It’s weird having them all working.

So so glad that you are having some 'you' time. It’s sounds nice to enjoy that time with friend as well. I think you really appreciate it more once you’ve got kids. I did second time around.

Am going to head off now and try to sleep, have (normal amount of) meds to hopefully be ok tomorrow. I had an iron infusion today and I’m hoping I have more energy soon.

Will be thinking of you @Teej really hoping the next little bit is as OK as it can be for you.

Sleep well (hopefully). Mega hugs for you ❤
