Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

lol! @CheerBear you can be whatever you want to be including a chilled unicorn in her space helmet floatin around 😉

oh dear about melted moments, your LF sound like they are pretty close in their relationships with one another even if they drive each other (and you!) a little crazy at times.
there is a huge age gap between myself and sister. 6 yrs between me and middle and then another 6 between middle and youngest. there has only been one yr where myself and middle were even at the same school and that was the yr she started kindy and i was in yr 6 so we didnt really spend much time at school together to form those sorts of attachments i guess..

I have been reading along and feeling your good and proud feels with you about your LF. i can imagine watching your little people transform into who they are and watching them transition between stages is daunting but also pretty exciting too

Re: Just checking in.

They're really close @outlander but they can get on each others nerves in a big way. I think they grew especially close when we were hiding out as we had no-one but each other and we all lived in the one room while we were there (which was about two and half months). They all still sleep in the same room here, though that might not last much longer which is not a bad thing.

I had a similar thing with you and your sibling and was not in a class with mine during school. I guess there are positives and not so positives with both. I'm hoping the time apart next year will have them appreciate time together more maybe. I think it will give the next oldest some breathing space and feelings of not always being the younger sibling so much. I'm a little scared of that one going full boss on us all with their new sense of freedom from watchful (dobbing lol) eyes though haha!

Thanks for the catch up and listening to my feely mum-ness. It's been a big few weeks for that one.

Better run and get some stuff organised for today. ❤ to you

Re: Just checking in.

yep i totally get that @CheerBear only not to long ago, my sisters and i shared one room too due to circumstances, and all 7 of us living in one small house doesnt work well at all!
i call those sibling squabbles- they are bound to happen no matter they age or how close/not close they are. 😉 Since things have changed housing wise and not being near each other it has helped us all so i hope that it helps your LF too.

to you too

Just checking in. Not sure what to write but feeling 'out of sorts', whatever that really means. I’m feeling like I’m in a bubble that’s about to explode I think. Just got a merry Christmas from Centrelink letter. They’ve rejected my latest Centrelink medical certificate and I’m trying not to stress but hoping so much I get paid over Christmas.

And there I was trying so hard not to come on here and whinge.

Whinge away @Teej It is so ridiculous that a medical certificate can be rejected - it is like saying the professionals whose job it is to diagnose and treat medical conditions mean nothing - it is so ridiculous that you would laugh if it wasnt so serious for you. So I think you have every right to whinge Teej

*****please don’t read if you need positivity just now, it’s a downer whiny self absorbed post******

Been scared to but need to vent. I have spent the last few days thinking about enacting my suicide plan over and over, just calmly knowing what I want to do. The thing is I know I can’t because that would be the most cruel thing I can do to my family. I don’t know if knowing I can’t heightens the urges of this. It won’t leave my thoughts, and when it does it comes back.

I have thought lots about about how much I have going for me, I’ve know I’ve always been one of the lucky ones. I have friends and family who care and support me but everything feels like something to endure or get through. I don’t know if I know what joy is anymore. Even family dinners where all my kids are with me I count down the minutes until I’ve got through and survived it and can go to bed. I feel there is so much shame writing that here. There are so many people who would do anything to have the support I do and yet I’m so unable to move on, crippled by my own doing. I know it’s my fault 😔, I am feeling like maybe I’ll never find a way to feel ok enough again.

I dont know what im hoping from writing this. There are no magic wands or fixes unless it comes from me. I guess I hope that the next week isn’t as hard as I think it’s going to be.

Thank you and sorry if you read this far. 🙏

Thanks @Zoe7. Please don’t read my last post just yet. It feels like you need a break from heavy stuff.

Re: Just checking in.

Depression is depression @Teej and it doesn't matter who you are or what support you have it is part of us and although you are the onlly one who can pull yourself out of that it does also depend on so many otherm factors - so don't be so hard on yourself - what you are feeling is what you are feeling and that is okay to acknowledge. By acknowledging it you are taking a massive step, by posting you are asking for support and by living with this you are suffering and as much as we want to have a magic wand to help - no-one does. It is a long, hard road - we all know this - but when you are stuck right in the middle of it you can't even see that road. Lean on us as much as you need because you are not only deserving of our support but I suspect deep down you also want it. Here with you Teej
