Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Former-Member

The nights are definitely the worst. Don't like to sleep because am afraid of what I'll wake up to. Know I'm safe now but the anxiety and fear is so entrenched and long lasting it is difficult to get over. Sometimes it's easier not to sleep and not face the fears - but then I have a whole new set of concerns - exhausted, can't function, overthink etc. etc. Even with the meds sometimes too wired to sleep.

Today has been more positive though and hopefully will be a little more relaxed tonight xxx

Re: Just checking in.

@utopia Thinking of you

I hope you can get your specialist appointment really soon.

Perhaps check on Monday tosee when your appointment might be, it might ease your mind knowing when they can see you- hopefully sooner rather then later.

Hi @Former-Member

How are you going babe?

Don't worry about your grammer or English mine is much worse then yours

I miss a lot of words and what do you call it when when you have to make sense of that, I can't think of the word I am thinking of but I am pretty sure you know.

@Former-Member @Former-Member

Let's just call the missing of words 'unlucky'. As long as we can make sense of what you have written, and it's not in hieroglyphics, who cares about grammar (sh*t I've been away from work too long - the kids would love it if they just read that - would think all their Christmases had come at once and English would be so much easier to teach) LOL

Re: Just checking in.

I'm strangely ok for now @Former-Member. It just hit me that it's a Saturday night and feel ok, first one for a long time. But it also feels a bit like the calm before the storm.

I just read that you are still finding it difficult. Did you work out whether you still want to continue with your specialist? I hope this week gets a bit better for you.

Re: Just checking in.

Funny thing is @Zoe7 I would normally stress a heap over all my mistakes and beat myself up. Tonight I went omg did I really write that and post it, oh well I hope you can all read it.

What did you teach?

Thoughts and prayers with you here too @utopia .... and big virtual hugs .... waiting sucks ..... hope it's all a positive outcome ....

Take care of you @Kurra .... mind yourself on the drive, huh ? I know it's a big land and we do big kms in the West as well .... but careful not to overdo your circumstances in the mo ....

@Former-Member

I believe I may have been through and with some of those stress times with you this week - progross hey! Well done - proud of you.

I was teaching primary school - Art (1 day) and grades 4/5 (the other 4). Will have a 3/4 next year if I can go back. Have taught High School English, SOSE (History and Geography mainly), life skills and alternative education programs.

Re: Just checking in.

@Former-Member I am glad to hear you are feeling better tonight and I hope this continues for you.

I have some additional support to my long term specialist now, I did see someone more locally on Friday and had seen her when I was doing CBT last year and I have checked in with her when I have needed extra support.

My long term specialist cancelled my appointment on Wednesday, I drove up all the way to see her and I got a message on my mobile that she needed to cancel due to a family emergency. They did try to phone me at home but only just after 1pm but my appointment was at 2pm and it takes me 45mins if I have a clear run through. I was bit disappointed because I was really needing to talk to her after losing my friend last Friday. And they were meant to call me Wednesday for another appointment but never did but my specialist did email and apologised to me.

I am thinking of going into hospital and I'll just try to get through the next week. I am going to try to swim everyday and go out for a coffee- it might help make me feel a bit better.
