Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @CheerBear, haven't been on the forum all day until now. Maybe I was there for a little while to 'support' posts, but not even sure I did that. Can't remember, it's been one of those days.

But reading your posts tonight, I want to add my voice of support for you at the end of this day. Hugs for suddenly having to make a big life decision, at the same time as so much is going on in your life besides.

Your clarity about your relationship with your friend seems a good thing. Ambiguity about that would seem to make things more difficult still.

I know you feel at the moment that neither option is okay and that is an understandable freakout. It may be that the worst feelings are happening now while everything is up in the air, and all choices are being played out in the imagination, which is sometimes not our best friend. Really hoping you will have few regrets once the choice is made, one way of the other.

Love and support from this corner too, dear heart.

Re: Just checking in.

Sitting here at very silly o'clock feeling so thankful again for people with such awesome listening eyes.

It's Friday now and I couldn't be more relieved about that. I trust that seeing my GP will really help today. On Monday I wondered how I could make it through until today, and here I am. Just like every other time I have questioned my ability to get through hard times, I have shown myself I can and will. Moment by moment and step by step (even if they're very wobbly ones) is how I can do all of this.

Today my person returns home after almost two months of living here. While there is a lot of stuff for them to deal with, my ability to do much of anything to help with that will be far less from this weekend. In a way I can let go, knowing that I have done my best. I will now have more space and time to deal with my own stuff which is something I really need.

In this moment I am trying hard to give myself the same kindness and understanding I would give anyone else, knowing that jumbled is OK right now. I'm holding on to all the times that emotional storms have passed and from them comes a clearer view of everything. This will pass.

I'm also hearing and absorbing all of the support so generously given to me from here at the moment. I'd feel much more alone and much more scared without this space. Thank you all, from the bottom of my (hurting) heart.

Good morning, @CheerBear. If you around still, I'm here for chat. If not, know that I am reading, listening, feeling for you and thinking about you. Love to you.

Re: Just checking in.

@CheerBear, I'm okay for now but not sure what I'll be like when I try to get moving a bit later. We'll see how the day goes. But regardless of how I feel or what I do or don't do today, I will be okay enough to keep on keeping on.

How are you at this hour of the day?

Re: Just checking in.

Glad you're OK for now @Mazarita. Such a Mazarita attitude to have re the day ahead - love it 😊

I'm feeling a bit nervous about the day ahead but am OK enough thanks. Annoying jolty wake up at 1:30 and have been up since 2:30, so I have a feeling tired will be a theme of the day for me.

Did you have much sleep?

Re: Just checking in.

Only a few hours so far, @CheerBear. Kind of like what you seem to run on a lot of the time! Wishing you really well at the GP. I imagine it might be reassuring to be able to speak to someone in person about what you are going through.

Re: Just checking in.

Hoping they were a solid and peaceful few hours at least @Mazarita. Ugh to sleep sometimes!

Thanks. Though I am nervous, I am looking forward to seeing her and getting to talk it through a little. I could really use some factual information about options and she can help with that. I have tried to go through information on the web but keep getting stuck in incredibly biased, radical opinions (from both sides but one in particular) and debates which I imagine are full of misinformation. It's incredible how graphic and extreme some of it is and how often it first appears to be unbiased info. So misleading and potentially damaging 😔 I've decided Google is not my friend with this and I'll stick with people I trust from here.

I better run. I have a crew who need some encouragement to get moving this morning.

Big hugs for the day ahead. Hope it is gentle and kind 🌈
