Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

I’m so sorry @Sans911. These things are so hard to change. I have a few as well. Have you tried to work through any strategies with the support worker? I feel like I spend my life saying sorry all the time.

Volunteering will get you out of head @Teej

Even just for a few hours. It will be good for you to serve others, It'll make you feel good.

I found I didn't have time to think about my SI or crisis. It was put on the back for a while and often when I was done volunteering, things had settled.

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @Teej @Sans911 ....

I am still up and just passing through .... heading to bed very soon.

I just wanted to tell you that I have to pull my baby dragons up over being stronger-voiced than they need to be, and my mr. gives both barrels when a softer version would suffice ..... I call it using a sledge hammer to crack a peanut ....

It is the fact that I know them that I can see that its just an unintentional moon-shot, and steady-steady with those sort of reminders, the kids have pulled into a lesser mode.

Mr. is another story .... everything is a personal criticism to him at the moment, and he will pull in as a bit of a sulk about being criticised, but I expect that will change if he gets professional support in the future. Cbt and dbt helped one of my bd's to get that .... but it had become intensified after he was triggered, and has naturally pulled back by degrees with the therapy and with time. It was just about realising that softer versions were just as effective, or more so, and then practicing the skill of reigning back a bit.

Sending hugs wafting across to both of you ..... hoping it is in some way helpful. You are not far from my thoughts often .... both of you.

💜💓

Re: Just checking in.

Sorry is a frequent word in my vocabulary @Teej. My support worker doesn't know she triggered me. She doesn't know how upset I am about it. I didn't raise it with her

Re: Just checking in.

I’m likely to turn up tomorrow and end up in a pile of tears and mess. The person who is coming is the coordinator of the volunteering programs. @Sans911. These days I don’t have much control over the water works.

The problem is @Faith-and-Hope I don't realise what I'm doing. I don't think or know I'm doing wrong. All I have now is sadness, and tears. Goodnight F & H

Re: Just checking in.

Maybe it’s something you could talk about when you are passed the big feelings of it with her @Sans911. Today I had to admit to things I am so ashamed of and scared of to the service. I’m on a wing and a prayer that they’ll take it on board and help me through it.
