Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

I know that feeling @oceangirl. My dad does too. He is a leader and always right. he doesn't cope well if his kids challenge him or don't have his values. There is nothing wrong with you. Like me you are just sensitive too but that's not wrong or bad it just is. Sometimes it makes navigating this world and people a bit tricky.
Do you think you would gain something from being in hospital now?

Re: Just checking in.

Its uncomfortable to feel like this and thanks for sharing your experience too @Former-Member. I am sensitive that is right and I think you understand how our emotions affect us. I am meant to start uni next wk that is still up in the air for me. I do feel like I need to be in hospital and I have been saying it for a while. I may phone them and see what they say and if going in is an option for me.

Re: Just checking in.

Just saw that post. I think that sounds like a good idea @oceangirl to speak to the hospital. I really think if you need that extra help it would be a good time to get that support. It might be that kick start you've been struggling with this year and a bit of stability for a while. Your uni is online isn't it. It may be hard to do on your own if you are feeling up and down all the time.

I am bit scared to talk to the hospital I think its been a little while since I spoke to them, about 9 months. I am hoping they will be still happy to support & help me. My uni course is attending (inperson). I am still not 100% sure what course I should be doing. I think you are thinking of masters degree in Public Health and that would have been online.

Re: Just checking in.

It is always scary to ask for help and admit you are not doing so well @oceangirl. I think you just need to weigh up if you think it will really benefit you then it's time to ask for that help. Don't be afraid of it because you deserve to get the help you need. If this is what you need then just try to do it. I hate asking for hospital too. Yesterday though I needed to know it was still an option if I needed it. Right now I don't need it but I probably will one day again. Then I just need to know I can go. I hope this helps

Re: Just checking in.

I'm glad your course is in person. You might find it helps to get you out of your head and concentrating on something else. That's what happened to me today.it was amazing to see the change in me just sitting in a classroom doing something else. @oceangirl
