Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

I love my kids but there have been lots of stresses having us all under one roof @eth. Oh and I was going to ask if your car made the trip ok and your cat (I think you had a cat, my brain is a bit awol) ?

Re: Just checking in.

@Former-Member At least you get a break sometimes. That's good to hear. The car was great and the 5 day road trip with my bro went really well. He's very tolerant of my anxieties so far. And nope, no cat!

still haven't been able to drive in the new town tho'.

Re: Just checking in.

Sorry if I'm too inquisitive @eth. Please don't feel like you have to answer. I guess the only other thing for me was that I turned 50 and tantrummed a lot over it but now it's passed I'm ok. I just felt like I hadn't accomplished anything and turning 50 seemed like a fail point. But still here kicking on. I'm still hoping to return to tafe again and try some volunteer work but I still can't string a week together without being in crisis so it's all a long term plan still.

Re: Just checking in.

Bahaha about no cat 😂 But I'm glad the car made it @eth. Not sure where I got that from but I know I've been on the edge with some memory things. I'm so very glad your amazing brother is there for you. What a beautiful man! You deserve this good support now too. I bet you feel more secure now. There is plenty of time to drive in the new town. 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

@Former-Member It was like that for me too. I am now trying a 3rd charger since the battery got low. The 1st 2 didn't work and there are no more so forgive me if I disappear.

It's to hear you have long term goals at least. I don't really but may try to do a basic computer course with U3A next semester. Just adjusting to being here is enough for now. Baby steps!
