Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

hugs @Appleblossom

I'm glad you have this gig coming up, hopefully it will be a positive experience for you both and a way to refresh with something beautiful, meaningful and creative. U offer so much to the world through your music and words/wisdom.

Your son has grown so much in the time that I've known you on the forums! He's turned into a man and beautiful son.

Do what you need to while away, what feels right for you and your needs. But don't forget that the forums are here for you... you dont have to 'give' all of the time... make sure you look after you too as you are very important (to me!).

sending love,

lj

Re: Just checking in.

Awesome response @Former-Member I totally agree

@Appleblossom i did it realise your son had told you this stuff, but by telling you like that he is dealing with it too and not suffering in silence with it. It sounds like a huge healing move for you both. Maybe you don't have to process it just accept it for what it is. All parents hurt their kids, no one gets it 100% right and most don't come close. Please don't be hard on yourself. I know it's a different scenario to most but your good definitely compensates for a great deal where as other parents miss the compensating part, they haven't given enough to their kids.

I hope you enjoy your trip. Will be thinking of you 💜🤗💐

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @Former-Member

It has been an up and down week - riding the highs and the lows but at least it's not all lows and that is a positive

I am blessed to have the wonderful support of everyone on the forum if needed and @Former-Member who reminds me daily by just being around that there is hope and that I am supported no matter what I am feeling. I find it easier to support others than I do to reach out for support myself so our daily conversations allow me to get this support by just staying connected. It's difficult to explain how much this means - it doesn't need to be an intense 'sharing' conversation to make a difference in my day - generally just sharing of how the day has been is a highlight.

I have cried a lot this past week! That is something I haven't been able to do for a long time. They have been tears of both joy and sadness - but I'm seeing that as a positive. Being able to let out some of those emotions that I have not been able to for so long. I hope that is in itself progress. I think it is starting to get to me a bit that I don't have my GP and psychologist appointments for this period. I have had some contact (last week) with my psych and do have a contact number but am reluctant to use it. Have been in phone contact regularly with my GP but it's not the same as having to physically leave the house to see her.

The weather has been terrible also and I haven't been able to at least get out with Toby and go to the beach for a few days so I think that is having an impact too. It is nicer today but I am not sure I am up to going out -might just burst into tears at any time and would not be great for driving.I'll see how I am later today.

Thanks for thinking of me - it means alo .

Hope you are ok and taking care of yourself also xxx

Re: Just checking in.

@PeppiPatty. Maroon - marone - can't spell it - was always my favorite colour - for the past 20 years. But since I've got back in touch with nature - green is my preference. It was also my favorite colour as a child.
Strange how we are attracted to different colours at different times of our lives.
Hello @Former-Member @Appleblossom @Kurra @TAB @Former-Member.
I see some of the amazing arts and crafts that some members create. I'm so envious. I love art. I'm just not patient enough to sit and do it. Maybe I will in another time in my life.
I hope everyone is well. It's warming up in central Victoria. So after cleaning and prepping my mums deck for staining tomorrow, I'm exhausted. I plan to sit in the shade outside - with the breeze blowing & read a book o got for Christmas from my son.
It's called 'Black box thinking- the surprising truth about success'.
Not sure if my son is trying to give me a hint. Lol.

Re: Just checking in.

Aagh!! Talk about frustration. Dearly beloved seems to be on the decline - behaviour becoming totally controlled and controlling. @PeppiPatty will have a good idea as dearly beloved deals with the same condition as her hubby.
This is so hard for an outrageously free spirit like me to cope with. Nevertheless I've discovered it's best to let go of somethings, appear to comply with others and when really necessary force the issue. .... gently. Oh and keep my mouth firmly shut when nonsense is teigning supreme.
I'm feeling a lot trapped for various reasons. I know I still have a job but I haven't got a clue where or what I'll be doing. It's possible I could be deployed to somewhere other than my current home town.
Right now I don't feel as if I belong with dearly beloved and I don't belong anywhere at work.
OK Kurra.
Quit whinging and be grateful for all you do have.
Breathe slowly and accept that what will be, will be.
Hugzzz to all 🎶 💕

Re: Just checking in.

@Kurra .... sounds like you're in my bubble with dearly beloved .... 😳 .... while we clearly have an e.d. on board, not sure what the underlying condition is .... but what you just described has been our last seven years reality ....

Feeling for you re the job uncertainty too .... but it will all come out in the wash. I know that's what you know, with the positive self talk there ....

Grafton was my mum's home town region .... 😊❣

Hi @Appleblossom .... 😊💕

So good to hear from you ..... and yeah .... hope the prep and performance for the opera goes well for you both.

❤️💕
