Thanks @Former-Member
It is wonderful to rekindle an interest - there are times when our lives become overwhelming at times and if we do not have a good view of the sky then it is hard to see some things - and even so - I knew Mars would be close to the moon last night and the sky was clear - I went out and saw Venus easily and of course the moon - but for whatever reason I didn't go out again - but there we are
I have been watching the proximity of Saturn and Antares for over a year - I watched Saturn catch up with Scorpio and they we together with Mars when I was in Canberra last year. The sky is very clear there - and my hotel room had a balcony - talk about the luck of the Irish - and now both are rising in the early morning but I haven't seen them yet - I got up early enough this morning but it was cloudy - this can be annoying - I live near Port Phillip Bay and on a restless night I will find it will be clear but toward dawn with have what we call the 5.00am shivers - a breeze will spring up off the Bay and hide the rishing planets etc - and this time of year the sun is rising later but still - we have to get up early to see the sky
But then - we can always go back to bed - I am not anxious to start my days earlier than the sun any more - at least - not in summer - not if I don't have to catch a plane - not because I have a job -
Yes - I am upset about green house gas emmissions - I don't drive but I don't feel "holier than anyone" about this - my unit tends to be cold and I run the reverse cycle A/C all the time during winter - I turned it off when I went to Canberra - 4 nights away - and got home and found a cat who realised I had been away and the house was like a crypt - freezing - and the cold weather doesn't make me a happy person so I keep my heater on low all the time to keep the chill off
But those lights over the city - that is unnecessary - everyone has to be BIGGER and BRIGHTER and BETTER
I will look up my book and when I see something that is easy to see in the sky I will let you know -
