I don't think I have read what happened to your son who didn't receive the support he needs or needed - and wow - that family gathering was more than I could have stood - all those hours and listening to all that "Mine was a bigger deal" over and over like - like - the end of the world

Don't worry about your other son saying your were pedantic - nothing I read in your post is pedantic - the young pick our faults - we are supposed to be perfect because we are parents and this is the very thing that will make us anything but

But I understand what you are writing about the son that needed help and the system has let down in a big way - the story with my son is a lot older - but one thing - it was hard for the system because he was not going to cooperated with anything or anybody - that was the way it was - it was the way he was

But your day sounds like some kind of nightmare - I am glad it is all over for you and you can rest - that was a hard day and went on too long I think

What kind a dogs have you got @BossandSqueezy, I love the names xx , where did you get the squeezy name from

we don`t have any pets because of where we live at the moment

it is soo inportant to have "Me Time", sometimes I get into the busy time that i forget about me

Hi, @Shaz51, my two dogs Boss and Squeezy are long haired Chihuahuas. Squeezy is 5 and Boss is 4. They are the light in my darkness and I wouldn't be alive today without them. They are both therapy dogs and we go to our local nursing home once a week to share their unconditional love. It's a very lovely thing to do. My son named Squeezy when she was tiny because she was able to squeeze into very small spaces.

It's good to hear that you have some 'me' time. I guess we can all get busy with 'stuff' and worry about things that make us anxious. Don't forget to take some time out for yourself, even if it's just having a coffee, listening to some music, reading, or just chilling in front of the TV.

what a wonderful thing you are doing once a week for yourself as well as all the people in the nursing home - I bet they love seeing Boss and Squeezy too

being long haired Chihuahuas, they did some grooming too, my aunty had about 5 little short haired Chihuahuas

Thank you @Shaz51, it is good at the nursing home. I can see a change in the elderly people when we arrive. The dogs seem to have a calming effect, and in the locked dementia unit, the residents forget us from one week to the next, so every week it's like we're visiting for the first time. Funny!!

It's true that pedantic is something that is easy to say and accuse someone of: it's not true @Former-Member..he probably liked just the words in his mouth coming out.

We seem to have one drama after another here.......

I wonder if he even knew what he meant - maybe it was a word he just learned and couldn't wait to use

I went to University with people so much younger than myself - there were times when I had trouble keeping a straight face

I am fine except the weather is very uncomfortable this afternoon

It's hot and humid and windy - we had rain and it was very warm this morning -

At least we are having summer

Did I read yous husband feels the need to sleep late and have afternoon naps because it's holiday - I could be wrong -

As for me - I have mozzie bites and I have just scraped the top off one - gotta find the bandaides
