not feeling good

not feeling good

At the moment i am not feeling good. i feel like my body is in 'run away mode'. i feel my body is running on a high, my head is so mixed up. i have to go to bed and try to sleep, but don't know if i can.

my hormones are everywhere at the moment; my mood is sky high negative. i can't deal with this anymre. all of a sudden i am not feeling good. i think it is anxiety.

i don't know why i feel like this; i just want to cry but can't becsue everyone is home. i am going to bed. i don't know what is going on. actually maybe it is anxiety because i felt like passing out today.

I went to my GP to have my mirena IUD taken out as I had had enough. But he couldn't find the string, so he sent me for a ultrasound. Had that and the guy said i had two fibroids and a cyst on my ovary. but he couldn't find the string either, so had to have an xray to find the metal piece. they didn't tell me anything. but while waiting i was so anxious i almost passed out.

so now i have to wait for tomorrow when my GP will call me at work and let me know what will happen now. hopefully he can take the mirena out. i don't know.

my body is reacting to my anxiety - i feel so shaky, i need to stop. no point telling anyone at home becasue (a) they won't believe me and (b) they prob wouldn't care.

sorry, i had to tell someone. i feel so alone 😞

@BlueBay

I do understand the struggle with your feelings and motivation. It is really difficult for oneself to imagine getting anywhere, doing anything and nothing ever working. But you are getting somewhere - you are connecting, you are doing something - you are reaching out for support, and something is working -you may be struggling to make any plans but at least you are thinking about them.

Go for that walk with your son my friend- even if you don't feel like it and you may feel even more tired afterwards - the exercise will be good, and maybe don't have a coffee - have a cup of tea instead.

How about going for the walk first then drawing something you see on your walk - then you are starting to make connections with two parts of your day and not just living solely in your head in the moment. I love to draw and to paint and I produce so much more when I don't think!!!!! Then I can look back and say - did I really do that - and have to say yes I did - positive

Re: not feeling good

Hello @BlueBay

So sorry you are feeling this way, maybe going for a walk will be helpful and doing something that brings you back into your body:

learning to use your senses is a helpful way to ground yourself back in your body.

eg Touch: cushions, soft toys, squishy balls, play doh, pebbles.
Smell: essential oils, pot pourri, fresh mint leaves or lavender.
Taste: Fruit bowl, mints.
Sight: Beautiful images, art books, landscape books. Hearing: ipods or cd player and headphones with soft music, instrumentals.

❤️

I'm trying @Zoe7 & @Former-Member
But it's not helping. I'm at the beach. Need to go home it's too busy with people.

Re: not feeling good

@BlueBay You are doing more than trying my friend. Even though there are too many people and you need to go home at least you got out - well done

I need to go out for a little while but I will be back as soon as I can. Keep posting and I'll get back to you really soon. I will walk this day with you - I really do believe in you and your inner strength. It takes so much courage to deal with what you have had to deal with in your life - and in your head - I know that because I too have similar issues re: depression, anxiety, childhood abuse and some other stuff... and I know the constant struggle in trying to make sense of why I feel like I do. Please stay strong and safe - do some of the things @Former-Member mentioned re your senses to ground yourself back to your body.

Keep posting - even if it's just to check in every few minutes - will be as quick as I can.

Am here with you - and want to be!!

Re: not feeling good

@BlueBay You are here because you are a fighter and worth it Don't dwell on the new year, new beginnings stuff - that is just a date and a moment in time - all that matters right now is the moment you are in. Make yourself a cup of tea - sip it slowly - just feel the taste and the warmth of the cup in your hands. Focus just on those feelings. Sit comfortably on the couch - wrap yourself in a blanket - feel the security and warmth of the blanket around you.

Re: not feeling good

Hi @Zoe7@Former-Member

Just letting you know I called the local CAT team and spoke to a clinician. He told me that I will be emotional, angry, frustrated, moody and depressed even more so over the next few days while stopping a certain medication.

I told him that i am home alone for the next 2 days and am scared that if i ring lifeline they will put me back into hospital. But i told him i am confused, need help and am scared of these side effects. Apparently it's a strong medication so coming off it will affect me.

I'm still here

Re: not feeling good

@BlueBay yes you are still here and I am here with you! It's great that you could speak to a clinincian and know that there will be effects from stopping the medication. If you feel you have to call lifeline then call - don't hesitate - your wellbeing is the most important thing at the moment. It sounds like the next two days are going to be tough with no-one with you - is there someone you can ask to come and stay with you - even for a little while.

Re: not feeling good

Hi @BlueBay,

Glad to hear that you were able to ring the CAT team and spoke to a clinician about your concerns. It can sometimes be good to know that feeling all of these emotions are due to discontinuing a particular medication, even though it does not make riding it out any easier! Was the clinician able to talk to you about any strategies that may be helpful over the next few days, particularly seeing as you having some alone time at home?

Glad to see you are still here and still posting. Maybe getting some extra support here will be helpful over the next few days?

The suggestions you have here from both @Zoe7 and @Former-Member are great, those mindfulness techniques can be really helpful at times. I also agree with @Zoe7 about the new year stuff..it is just a date and it is ok to disengage completely from all the new years hype around new beginnings. You just need to take each moment as it comes for now as it sounds as though this medication is quite strong and you will be experiencing some side effects over the next few days. Be kind to yourself
