Re: I can’t find peace

@Jynx, I think I’m okay or at least try to be okay. I have to go to school tom, wouldn’t be ideal going agitated. I don’t even know what’s going on with me, I’m not me

@creative_writer you're putting in the effort to make it through, and that is incredible. Sometimes trying is all we can do. I know it's a big confusing mess, and it's hard to sit with that. Just taking it one step, one hour at a time, and remembering that you are still you, the you who we all love and care for, no matter what whacky stuff your brain is going through 💜

Re: I can’t find peace

@Jynx, I’m tired of things being rough. It’s been harder lately, I wish I knew what to do but I don’t😫. I feel like I’m getting closer and closer to breaking point, but I have to keep it together, uni has requirements of fulfilling certain number of hours for placement

Re: I can’t find peace

Legit @creative_writer it's so hard to feel at a loss, to feel like you're not sure what you can do to alleviate the feelings. Be extra tough with placement, cos I think you're not really able to take a break, is that accurate?

Your mental health is priority though, and if you need to take that step back to look after yourself, there's no shame in that. You'd probably tell someone you're working with to do so, and you'd be able to reassure them that they're not a failure for doing so. But on the flipside, if perserverance is something that is helping you to keep going, and knowing the end goal is in sight, then more power to you. Whatever path allows you to move closer to your goals without having to sacrifice your wellbeing along the way.

@Jynx, I don’t even know what to do, my poor head is suffering after one day of placement, I don’t know how going in four days a week is feasible, something needs to change, I think I’m going to need really strong pain relief

Re: I can’t find peace

@creative_writer oh that is super rough. Hopefully you can get some pain relief from your gp - got any appts coming up? Hopefully you acclimatise and it gets easier.

Re: I can’t find peace

@Jynx @Shaz51 my mum says it’s best to treat the pain as it comes on rather than waiting until it’s super bad. I could get OTC painkillers, though they might be too hard on the stomach to take regularly. I have the same thing repeat day after day, regardless of whether I’m out or at home. Though it tends to be more when I’m out, which makes sense, stress plus sensory overload, and motion sickness from travelling. I don’t know why I always feel like I’m doing something wrong on placement, I find myself overthinking over interactions that went okay

Re: I can’t find peace

@creative_writer I totally feel that - when I was on placement I was always over-analysing myself and very critical of my efforts. I think it just means that you want to be doing well! Balance is in ensuring you're not tooooo critical of yourself - make sure you also take the time to acknowledge successes and commend yourself for things you are getting right. And also reminding yourself you're probably doing a better job than you think! Also, any mistakes you do make are just opportunities for learning 😉

Re: I can’t find peace

@Jynx, my perfectionist traits make their way to the surface, I can’t stop it. I feel like an idiot compared to everyone else, I feel socially awkward and incapable. I feel like everyone else is doing a better job than me, and here I am, doing nothing. Maybe it is social anxiety
