Hello
Hi, it has been 9 months since I ended very long term therapy. My therapist burnt out and it ended badly, the experience has been shattering for me.

Thank you for sharing @For26
I really resonate with what you're saying and I acknowledge how hard it is and can be 💛
I remember a few weeks ago my body shut down as a deadline approached for an assignment and I spent all afternoon on a beanbag at uni, I too contemplated why I started studying. As I learn more about myself and my mental health, I try to give myself space for those difficult days that pop up and I tell myself that this is all part of the process that will get me there and I will be able to do better at uni. As you said to try to be gentle with yourself.
Now..study is something that moves me forward in my recovery journey.. after a lot of dropping out and fails..🤞
I am also a big perfectionist with my work.. I never thought to look at it as something that keeps me safe. Thank you for offering this 🙂
My self care looks like watching a movie too!! I love escaping into a movie and having that reset.
I wanted to share this with you: I came across this ADHD term body doubling and I feel like anyone can benefit it . Body double really helps me! Its something I've learnt as a tool in ADHD - a body double is someone who sits with a person with ADHD as they tackle tasks that might be difficult to complete alone. I find body doubles on https://discord.com/invite/study or a website called flo body double.
It's a skill to recognise the patterns in yourself and what was hard in your therapist relationship. I hold space for you to speak about this 💛
Sending fluffylight,
xx
