Welcome and getting started

Hello

Hello

Hi, it has been 9 months since I ended very long term therapy. My therapist burnt out and it ended badly, the experience has been shattering for me.

Hi @For26

Thanks for sharing about whats going on 💛 :yellow_heart

It sounds like you've been having a hard time navigating through the end of a long term therapy?

I'm sorry this is shattering you. This definitely sounds very hard and I want to send you many hugs.

Please feel free to share about your experiences here 🙂 :slightly_smiling_face

Re: Hello

Thank you, I feel betrayed as I ended the therapy rather then fight as we were disagreeing on a lot of things and then my therapist said in a text that my parts where too angry when I was off-line (DID) but I wasnt off line, I was frustrated and hurt, they used DID to shame and demonise me. They even came before the text and dropped off something they had of mine at my door and wrote on it my name and Have a nice life... just like that. It was unprofessional, hurtful and after 10 years of working together shattering and I am still trying to gain perspective and move on. I still have attachments inside so it is very difficult as I haven't had anyone to talk to now until this time. Thank you for letting me say it "out loud".

I'm here if you need a chat @For26 . It's important you do not feel alone in this.

Re: Hello

@tyme, thank you. My confidence has been undermined by having my diagnosis used in this way. I have felt alone and defective when I have worked so hard through trauma to stabilise my mental health. This was a kick in the guts that winded me and is coming back now due to the time of year.

Re: Hello

I'm hearing you @For26 . The stigma that comes with MH can be so damaging. It can deny you of being heard. It can deny you of being treated as human. I've experienced this first hand, and this is why I'm here - I'm pushing for things to change.

I thank those who, despite stigma, treated me as a human and not a case number.

We are hear for you @For26
