Life on an SSRI

I recently started back on medication specifically anxiety medication for the first time in years

I wanted to write about the journey for me and maybe track my progress by writing about how its going.

it might help someone else who’s considering it, currently going through or has been before.

i don’t think I’m allowed to name what I’m taking but thats ok. this is mostly for me to just get it out of my head. I might even decide Im being too vulnerable and delete this thread, but lets give it a shot.

True. I think that's true for many parents @ArraDreaming . My sister craves to go out, but ends up missing the family and scrolls through all their photos, then comes back home. LOL

Day 6/ I don’t know how we are up to day 6 when I started on Sunday
thats got my brain really confused

I woke up today like a switch had flicked
i got up at 6:30 walked the dog and then made it to work with 3 mins to spare
(in fairness no kids to deal with in the morning so that would be helping the being more organised but not the wake up, odd that I woke up early without the kids aka life sized alarm clocks

super weird
anyway
is this how normal people feel in the morning?

i don’t know if this is something I should be worried about but when I eat I feel sick straight away that I instantly just want to chuck it back up (sorry probs too much info for anyone reading)
I hate it
i can be perfectly fine sometimes until I eat

If this is an ongoing prob, maybe it's good to get it seen to by the dr. It could be anything. Yet at the same time, it can be for just a short time.

Monitor it, and see how you go.

Day 7… (not too sure how that happened )

felt like Satan had ripped out every positive emotion in my brain this morning and then lit it on fire.

Managed to get up out of bed to give the dog some food, had my medication and then back to bed for 4 hours. Managed to get myself up and organised though after that time which made me feel a lot better

I feel ok at the moment I don’t know how long these things take to kick in but maybe they are working, or maybe they aren’t and all they are doing is just reversing the side effects/string of up and down emotions that I have been feeling because of them, like it’s just causing me to feel wack and then cancelling itself out and making me think I’m doing better

I dunno I can’t tell yet

Day 8, Sunday, meaning I have hit the 1 week mark

Feel ok today, physically pretty much all those side effects have eased, just kind of feels like my brain is still doing what it did before but on a lower volume is that how it’s meant to work???

I'm glad to hear the physical symptoms have eased a bit.

Are the med supposed to help your brain, or whatever symptoms your talking about? Sorry, I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to.

Ahh yes good old Ferrari brain me, @tyme had a thought needed to get it out, made no sense.,

I meant to say that today i felt like I still had some anxious thoughts and I still felt anxiety at times, but it wasn’t as overpowering as it has been before… and i think that means this stuff is kicking in
