Anxiety and stress

Anxiety and stress

Hey guys just feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything at the moment. My sister isn't doing great atm and I tried to get her help and now she doesn't want to talk to me she doesn't understand I did it because I care. My anxiety is acting up because of the yelling and loud noises in the neighbourhood. There were police, csi and white van across the road and can't stop thinking the worst. My health is all over the place atm and everything feels too much right now and I feel like everything just keeps going wrong. I guess im just venting, I'm just so tired of dealing with everything and I'm exhausted.

Hi @Knj

Wow.

Sounds like an movie scene.

So much action.

I am sure if your sister needs you, she will know you are there.

A great offer from you to look out for others when you have so much on.

Sometimes after the offer to help, we need to give it time.

I hope you can now find something good to do.

Glad you vented here.

Venting helps

Re: Anxiety and stress

Yeah I don't think she is really in a good mindset atm and I just want the best for her. Take her medication isn't a priority for her.

Yeah sometimes it's hard because no one seems to get my health problems and tell me it's all in my head or I'm doing it for attention but I have other things I like to focus on like crochet, knitting or various crafts.

I love my sister and will be here for her no matter what and I think she knows deep down. It's just hard to see her go through these things.

Sometimes I have to keep a brave face and put my problems aside and deal with my stuff by myself which often results in crying but better out then in I guess.

Hugs @Knj ,

That sounds so incredibly hard. I hear you want the best for your sister, yet at the same time, she has her own mind on the matter.

Please remember, it's her condition speaking, and most likely not her speaking.

You acts of kindness towards her will be remembered. However, what's more important is the acts of kindness for yourself. You need to be well to be able to support her.

Have you ever contact Carers Gateway? or ARMFI?

Re: Anxiety and stress

Yeah it can be but we don't have much family support and we are close.

Yeah she isn't speaking rationally and thinking clearly I'm aware of that, sometimes it hard to know what's real and what's not and when I can trust her.
I'm not her carer, her partner and family wanted me to I guess advocate for her and get her the help she needs.

As for me, they don't really know my struggle but I do seek help through councelling and come up with strategies to help me.

Re: Anxiety and stress

You may not have a 'carer' title, but you are doing the job of caring which makes you an 'unofficial' carer? That means you get the recognition you deserve for your large heart. @Knj

You may want to visit Wednesdays’ Well of Wellness – Wellness Tips This is especially for carers (or people like you) who often give and give and give, then forget about themselves.

Re: Anxiety and stress

Hi @Knj

I hope as part of your strategy you use this forum.

I do. Great place to express things.

You seem to have good instinct.

Use it.

Trust it.

You sound open to good advice.

As @tyme said and you also did, not everyone realises what they are doing so your sister may not be aware.

But you are aware of you. Sorry others are not seeing your strain. As you say, (officially) you are not her carer but your personal awareness and willingness to look after others is admirable.

I hope this forum shifts for focus.

I can see the strain.

Strong people (like you) still hurt.

Hope to see you around on the forum

Hi @tyme

You suggested to @Knj wednesdays wellness.

Where is that? Under forums?

Re: Anxiety and stress

Hey @tyme
Yeah I use this forum occasionally and I feel at ease just expressing myself.

Yeah definitely open to good advice. Not someone who wants to stay in the same place for long.

That's okay!
Yeah so true
Thanks
