Winter solstice

Winter solstice

Longest night of the year and the darkness and coldness have really hit. Things seem really bleak. I've been struggling for a long time and was pacing myself to this point but can't see beyond it. I'm safe but despairing. I'm trapped in a vortex of family dysfunction from earliest years and emotional pain, received and (mea culpa) inflicted. I can't help my closest sibling - all others are estranged - and I don't seem able to extricate myself from personal difficulties and dilemmas that at present ďefine me - I have no connections or other identity. I've lost faith in my mh team.

I guess the sun will rise tomorrow, and I'll keep taking one day at a time, but I can't envision a future, my future.

Re: Winter solstice

Hello @AuntGlow nice to see you.

I'm OK thanks. I booked then cancelled surgery. And I've started EMDR.

The juggernaut of family dysfunction lurches on. I'm holed up in isolation trying to make the best of my own space. Still stressed to the nines. Still looking for glimmers. My goal is to be on track by midyear, with some sort of goal.

Re: Winter solstice

A family member and I badly upset each other today. Misinterpretation.

Re: Winter solstice

Thanks @tyme . Yes it was rough. Rough for my family member too, I hadn't realised where they were coming from, which was great vulnerability. But I find their anger scary.

Re: Winter solstice

Had a better sleep last night @Dimity which was nice

But today has not been good

And could not do the coffee and chat threads today

Also found a dead rat downstairs so I washed everything and Mr shaz blocked up the hole under the wall

Hope you are OK xx

Re: Winter solstice

Very sorry to hear you were on the receiving end of your family member's anger, @Dimity 😥

Hope you are coping ❤️

Re: Winter solstice

I hope today's better for you @Shaz51 . I've noticed holes alongside and probably under the concrete driveway. And I sometimes hear something in the ceiling.

@NatureLover thanks. No I don't cope well. It really worries me, I sort of freeze for hours afterwards.

The lawn mowing chap will come today if the rain holds off.
