Hi guys,

I am always worried about leaving people off my tag list: I think I have not done a bad job today just working from memory. Please accept my sincerest apologies if I have left you off:

Today I am really happy and feeling proud of myself! I am not a great housewife and am seriously lazy. Housework gives me anxiety. Today I moved everything off the floor, vacuumed and mopped the hard floors. I popped dishes in the dishwasher. I also did two loads of laundry. I will ask hubby to hang the laundry on the line later. He won’t mind as he usually does the laundry himself. So really I have helped him. I have also picked up my winter clothes and put them in the wash. I just have one more load of laundry to do.

I have a few gaps in my raised garden beds because my lettuce ran to seed and my beetroot and turnips were ready to be harvested. I popped some zucchini in to fill the spaces. Finally yesterday those zucchini came up in one of the beds but I am still waiting on the other bed. I am not going to grow too much over summer because it is just too hot and I can’t afford to set up shade cloth right now.

Well just a recap, feeling so happy with myself today! Feeling accomplished.

Thought I would drag you over to my thread to continue our chat. I know @Dimity likes to keep the other thread just for subjects relating to tidying and I don’t want to upset anyone. I am hoping to get a compensation payout from the Army around April sometime. The Defence Force Ombudsman recommended that I get paid $20k but it’s up to defence if they pay me anything at all: Just have to be patient. If I get the payment we will do a total roof restoration and then install solar with a battery. There is a government subsidy for that in our area at the moment. I relate to you when you said you would not make a good housewife. I have a lot of room to improve in that department. I want to get my house appraised so I am going to have to clean all the walls and such. Do more decluttering too. My dream is to move to the country. This house is 29 years old and is falling apart, just going to sell it as a renovators delight. There are very few houses on the market to buy or rent in Perth at the moment so prices are strong.

That’s awesome @Oaktree you deserve to be very proud of yourself! Well done!

@Oaktree There must be lots of stuff going down with the Army. My dad was in the British Air Force and I was surprised he made his way through given what I now know. I'm sorry you had that experience but realise it is not uncommon for people to be deserving of compensation. It seems to happen a lot. If you get the money you can accept it as their apology and put it to good use. I hope you are entitled to the money.

I'm going have to to cut this short for now as I still have to bag a months worth of meat and put it in the freezer by the end of the day. Its been a long day and I can almost tick everything off my to-do list. But this is the last thing I need to do today. Its going to be a coolish day tomorrow so will go to the chemist to pick up my meds once the fridge delivery man has been. I will have a months worth to cover me until mid January when chemists open again.

I am entitled to compensation. It’s for an indecent assault by my higher chain of command Sgt when I was just 17. Not going into details but the whole experience was terrifying.
